Micky has stacks and stacks of ability and showed it at the start of the season. His decline came with the loss of Pogba and the fact he didn't have the free reign he has with him in the side. Maybe now he's back he can re-discover that form and play like we all know he can!
He needs to be a little more robust and a bit quicker thinking in tight spaces. Give him space to play in though and I agree I think he's right up there. You could well be right, one of the players that suffered a little without Pogba as PP spots the things that a lot of others can't see and more importantly can deliver the ball at the right time.

Agreed. He needs confidence at the moment. If he has the character and robustness to come through this period, he could be a very good player. Playing him and the likes of Martial together is risky, as they are too mercurial, brilliant one minute, and terrible the other 89 at times. But when on song, they can both be very good. It's difficult enough carrying one player when he's not playing well. Carrying two is not an option.

I think when the game is tight mhiki is pretty useless, his good performances have usually come when the game is already won and has become more open.
He wasn't great when pogba was playing, laying on an assist when you are 3-0 up is pretty meaningless. And his performances against other 'top 6' teams have been utterly woeful.

He's been here 2 years and I have never seen him play a game where I thought he was an 8 or 9 out of ten.

He's a player I would ship out if the chance arose.

Ouch.

I do think he has a lot of ability, but it is hard to fault that analysis. He really does tend to play at his best in games that we have already won. And that is a big problem when one of the main reasons to have a talented No 10 is for him to win you the big games.

At the moment, I would be doing anything necessary to get the most out of Pogba. He is our one truly World Class player.

I’d say Matic is one of the worlds best in the holding midfield role too. Still can’t believe we got him biggrin

For some reason I have only just discovered this thread.

It was great to see Pogba back in the team Saturday and as soon as I saw that I knew Lukaku would score. People have been slating Lukaku but since Pogba has been out he just has not had the service and has had to live off scraps.

With everyone back from injury we should get a run together and put some pressure on city.

Always a pleasure to welcome a fellow united fan onboard. So welcome.

Those you mention have been quiet of late. Far less to brag about with their Gangnam style pressing and their best 11 in the world not being quite...well the best 11 in the world.

To bring us all back to Earth after a good win, let's play 'Who do we sell in January?'. I know it's not been long since the last time, but my thinking has moved on.

Top of the list: Lindelof. Pub player. Crap even in his highlight reel.
Next best: Darmian. So bloody average.
Fat boy prize: Shaw. Never going to be played so may as well leave / lose 10 pounds.
Just not very good: Rojo.
Di Maria class but not fitting in prize: Micky

Anyone know whether we can get Pereira back from loan? He is class.

We should also spend £500 million on full backs. If Kyle Walker is worth £50 million, we will need that much to fill the gaps in the squad.

Mental to sell Lindelof this early
Darmian is average
Shaw I think it will be a shame but agree to an extent
Rojo is awesome as a Cb not so much as an LB
Micky maybe if we got someone quality in

Pereria is a season long loan IIRC and I suspect he may have burnt his bridges sadly, AIUI we asked him to stay and he asked to go on loan, we could have done with him when all our mids were injured

I think we are getting a bit giddy, and here's my outs.

Darminan
Shaw
Jones
Rojo

Linda and Micky need to do much more, but I'd give them a chance.

Harry needs to up his game.

Fella is not really a united player, but does a job, so probably stays.

Shame. He's the next Pogba in the sense that we will have to buy him back for huge money if he gets bored waiting for his chance and leaves.

(Or he may turn out to be one of those hugely talented nearly men. Always hard to say. He's small and weak, which puts him at a huge disadvantage.)

I am starting to wonder about AP, I know myself and (I think) Anniesdad have been singing his praises for 3-4 seasons now, expecting him to kick on and he ends up on loan each time

Sometimes players take the decision out of the managers hands ala Rashford, I hope I'm wrong but I do wonder if he has missed the boat

I'd rather keep Jones and get rid of Smalling. I think Jones is the better defender, and Mike always seemed uncomfortable on the ball.
