Slightly disappointed we've replaced an ageing slow striker with an even slower one. Although, perhaps Rooney's shooting accuracy will be better.

Well his hands are tied a bit with Mata out, and having had Mikhi and Rashford play the whole 120 minutes on Thursday. If he played them today and one picked up a strain there would be hell to pay - Wayne is part of the squad and hopefully can make a decent contribution, I'm sure he will be trying his best to.

Will be interesting to see if it's Rooney or Martial playing the no.9 role though, I'd imagine it will be Martial.

At last from Tony. He needs to be positive like Rash and Jesse.

Yes, he's responded well to the chance today. Long may he keep it up. Rooney's done pretty well too, considering how little game time he has seen recently. We'll be getting a bit leggy maybe in the second half, so that second goal is really important.

So far so good.

That's the Martial we all have been waiting for. Love him on his day.

Rooney? Seriously? We must have a lad in the reserves who could offer us something in attack. Rooney brings literally nothing. He looks like a middle aged Sunday league player.

Hard to think of a single forward pass.

Rooney? Seriously? It's not even funny how bad he is.

I'm not his biggest fan and never have been.

But he scored and put us in control of this game.

If he can be rubbish, score and seal a win, then I'm happy.

Apparently it's hard to officiate at Turf Moor due to the sun.

Sounds like a load of old bks to me.

Yes, but his point was what the linesman was doing to him, I think wink.

Anyhoo very good result today, considering the state of the team post midweek. It was more comfortable than it might have been, but we controlled it well. Bit of a worry over PP at the end, hopefully just being sensible if he felt something.

Just the one point behind City now, makes it exciting for Thursday smile

Yep, only need to beat them by 4 goals to take 3rd spot from the scousers. smile

Any win would be good though especially when you look at our injury worries from Thursday and today.
Saw Rashford limping after about 2 minutes on the pitch today. Hope it's nothing they can't fix up quickly.

Only if they lose today. Then it would be fewer goals, too...

Scousers are likely to end today on 69 points.
