Ooh yes I'll have some of that. And because we are all football fans my chosen charity will be for the victims of Hillsborough.
I have to say though my reluctance for making a bet on here is because the last one of made I won but was never paid out was a charity bet to. I'm sure your better than that though.
So deal. May the best team win.
Great. Mine will be a cancer charity that I'll confirm nearer the end of the season. I will pay out and will post a pic of my contribution as proof, if I lose. No mate not you. Southerners tend to honour thier bets, tis why I am happy to have a wager with a utd fan. .
You are indeed a brave man Ascay What with their " Cheque book Manager " in charge. jeez he could spent another £500M you know.Fingers crossed you will win the bet & hopefully this time they will pay up.
Current PL odds look to me to be about right. They would suggest the following.
Hard to identify the most likely winner as between Man City, Chelsea and Man Utd, although probably in that order of likelihood. I think that overrates Man City a bit.
Then a big gap to Spurs (odds are not very generous there at 10-1; 20-1 would be more realistic) and then a smaller gap to Arsenal and Liverpool. I think Spurs stand bugger all chance of winning the league (less than Livepoop and Arsenal), but I nonetheless think they'll probably finish above those two.
Assuming no more big transfers, I predict the following top 6:
Chelsea
Man Utd
Man City
Spurs
Arsenal
Liverpool

So Lindelof and Lukaku take you from sixth to second?Hard to identify the most likely winner as between Man City, Chelsea and Man Utd, although probably in that order of likelihood. I think that overrates Man City a bit.

Nope. Pogba being the best player in the league and our massive underperformance last year explain the difference. We are unlikely to underperform so badly again, and Pogba is getting better and better. We also have a fantastic young striker who gets better every month and a world class AM who is finding his feet (Micky).
Our defence looks pretty average still, but Mou will somehow make it work.
It's not all about players. See Leicester. See also Man U winning the league very comfortably in Fergie's last season.

Its not all about players, but players still have some part to play. As for Pogba being the best player in the league, that might be the case at the end of next season but the only time he was really crowed about in the last year was when France played England. That's a very naive and shallow view. You do realise a position is relative to others? Spuds will struggle at Wembley, scousers will do the same as they did last year. Chelsea will find it hard to win again. City have made a lot of changes to the squad.

Has everyone been drinking today?
I've had a couple but spent most of the day getting pissed wet through at a very wet Anglesey trying to get a good bike set up ahead of next week's marathon 1000km Endurance race at Donington. Ascayman said:
Pogba best player in the league? I've heard it all now. Last season he wasn't even the best player in his family
Pogba has looked top drawer pre-season. If Utd can get him a little more forward this year, they could win the title IMO. Too many focused on the transfer fee paid, and not on the progress he made last year.Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
