Really? Judging by your posts on here and the amount of your posts that have been on the United thread you're carrying a pretty big chip.
I'm curious what we've done to deserve this pleasure. You post here way more than anywhere else, so we must be your favourite topic of conversation.
It's not you Cie, you are rather entertaining. Funny to watch the rest with the air of entitlement, especially anniesdad who appears to have had a few shots of testosterone in the close season.I'm curious what we've done to deserve this pleasure. You post here way more than anywhere else, so we must be your favourite topic of conversation.

Er, no. We've won trophies, very recently. You quite rightly, have to look much further back. World of difference.
Not really. When we were winning trophies like the League and FA cups more regularly you'd point out our European and League records which were poor/non-existant. It's a slow decline, but the fact that as fans you bothered mentioning the Community Shield as a trophy shows how things have changed. You'd have not cared about it previously. Now it's part of a double because the major trophies are drying up so the lesser trophies become worth mentioning.selym said:

Why do you have such a big chip on your shoulder about United? I don't remember any particular rivalry with Plymouth.
No chip here. NRS said:

Hilarious. Absent the first 8 games and as soon as we lose, you're back. Predictable and bitter. Get a life mate. There's more to life than hoping we lose every game. Like maybe worrying about your own team. Or the weather.
Hold on....I was here when you were on the title winning run at the start of the season. I do worry about my team.

And we currently have a couple of trophies in the cupboard. We'll let you know when it's growing mould like yours.

10+? 25+ since you won the league? A lifetime for many of your supporters.

That's the point. We stopped winning the league long before we stopped winning other random trophies. It's been 5 years since you last won the league. With time you get happy to pick up stuff like the Community Shield and start counting it as a trophy, whereas in the past you'd laugh at us for counting it as anything. Just slowly slipping into mediocrity with time. And we currently have a couple of trophies in the cupboard. We'll let you know when it's growing mould like yours.

We don't have an empty trophy cupboard. 4 years since we last won the league. You've gone 6 or 7 times that period. Not exactly a great comparison.
I'm not saying we are at the same stage. Just having been through it you can see how it has similarities to us in the past, just at an earlier stage. Lose a great manager, not possible to replace, slowly the glory days are in the past but with trophies popping up at times to keep the hope there. Give it another 5-10 years and see what happens. It's slightly WUMing, but I do believe you may well be going through a slow decline like we have been for the last 25 or so years. But I will stop now as I outlined my point and don't want it to get any more repetitive (boring for you) than it already is!

I’m going to humour you and be polite. It's slightly WUMing, but I do believe you may well be going through a slow decline like we have been for the last 25 or so years. But I will stop now as I outlined my point and don't want it to get any more repetitive (boring for you) than it already is!
I’m old enough to remember your dominant years and your decline and I’ve reflected that our decline mirrors yours to a large extent. However, the big difference is the current management. I’m not a Mourinho fan, but he is a proven winner. Five years after your last league title, you were still pissing about with a bootroom and had Roy Evans in charge. That was your downfall.
Personally, I’d rather we didn’t have Mourinho in charge, but he will do what’s necessary and get us back winning titles. It might take him 2-5 years, but I can line with that, as it’s what needed. I’d love to have Pochettino’s style of football, but before that we need a winning mentality and Mourinho will deliver that. He’ll mostly deliver good games along the way too. Don’t forget that up until the last two st matches, we were regularly scoring 4 and conceding 0

Not sure many can argue...

Winning mentality is absolutely key.
Very unpopular in Corbyn Britain where being weak and pathetic is seen as virtuous, and where slagging of success is a form of virtue signalling. But it's true.
Beta males will always get snipey with anyone who aspires.
