I don't think we need a new target. Unless there is a another top quality box-to-box midfielder out there.
Lots of news outlets are still reporting that he does have a £48m exit clause despite what their sporting director said last week. If Coutinho stays this season, may go after Keita next summer but of course other vultures will be circling too.
I'm pretty sure In the whole of football with 80m to spend there is another CM who could improve us Lots of news outlets are still reporting that he does have a £48m exit clause despite what their sporting director said last week. How many of us had heard of Keita before we went for him?
A world class centre back (VvD)
A proper full back (I'd hoped for better than the failure from Hull)
A wide attacker (Salah)
A decent striker that suits our style to replace Sturridge, Origi and Ings (Solanke?)
But if we lose one or both of Coutinho and Can then we have to bring in proven quality in centre midfield. Henderson, Wijnaldum and Lallana isn't strong enough to drive the game forward and Grijic & Milner as cover is too weak.

Tuttosporto: Can has agreed terms with Juventus.
Klopp: Contract talks are progressing well. Both parties are happy.
Who to believe? Hhhhhmmmm...
Surely this is tapping up? He's under contract with Liverpool, how can his agents be discussing this with Juve when we haven't even given them permission to do so? If the club don't talk directly to him, it's not tapping up? Seriously?Klopp: Contract talks are progressing well. Both parties are happy.

Did Southampton give Liverpool permission to speak to one of their players recently?m3sye said:

I made the same point on Thursday to which you disagreed. Change of heart?
My original point remains; if we can afford £150m on strengthening two positions then there must be a wealth of players to choose from.

Ben Smith is saying it's going to be a big week for lfc so if expect at least 1 big signing next week
Vvd would be a major capture
Van Dijk has been left out of the Southampton squad. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/40703294Vvd would be a major capture
Keita is clearly getting pissed off also. The Can stories aren't going away either. If we lost one and gained the other I'd take that as us getting stronger.
Unless we mess things up to a level that would be surprising even for us, I think the VvD transfer will happen for us. Now he's forcing the move I'm hoping we pay no more than 60 million for him.

When Keita got scythed down initially no-one batted and eyelid. When he returned the favour they all took exception to it.
Rather telling perhaps?

Players get injured in training all the time - do people think they happen without contact with other players?! Training matches are often at full tilt.
The tackle on Keita isn't great - badly timed. His response is pure filth. Not sure I like his temperament! All I know of him is his ability in FIFA on PS4, in which his really rather good!
