986 2.7 - what exhaust?
Discussion
Sorry - I can see that there have been a number of threads over the years but seemingly not recently?
Corrosion dictates that I need to replace the current system - heat shields have fallen off and the silencer seams are splitting and it rattles like f*** so I really must act!
This is no garage queen, it's on 147,000 miles now and I did 1000 miles in it last week so it gets used. Hence I'm not after anything that will be booming at motorway speeds but would quite like something that has a little more 'burble' at lower speeds.
Hopefully the cats are ok so I intend to retain them & the original manifolds.
Budget needs to be sensible - I'm not spending a quarter of the cars value on an exhaust!
Cheers
Chris

Don't know we're you are based but know great garage in Bolton that will supply and fit a sports performance exhaust for around £850 were I got quoted £1300 elsewhere
As my existing exhaust was in good condition got them to do Cat Bypass Mod for £250 against £400 quotes elsewhere
So if your local could be worth getting a quote ??
Can send you videos of mine before and after and more raspy and sporty at low revs than original

Mine is 08 3.4Ltr Boxster Jeff

Hi i've been looking at adding a sports exhaust on mine and Carnewal seem very highly rated for their GT conversion and do an exchange service. Problem might be they are located in Belgium but they will send over for £40 on basis you return the old one. Anyone else used them?
I had one fitted to my 2.9, excellent exhaust but takes a bit of time to really run in. If you live in the south east, I'd recommend making a day of it and driving over, it's really not far. I kept my old one rather than exchange and he posted that back for me.Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
