Seems City's apparent dominance is leaving a lot of people cold on football generally at the moment. Must be like what most La Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 fans feel like...

At least in La Liga there are two teams who could win it. Dominance by one side is sometimes inevitable, but there needs to be at least one other team to push them, otherwise the product becomes very dull, very quickly.

Plus you forgot the SPL, now that Rangers can’t compete.

I have a few Spanish friends who have followed La Liga for years, they all without fail support two teams, their local team plus either Barcelona or Real Madrid as it's the only way they can guarantee watching a team play in big competitions. The rest of the league are pretty much there to make up the numbers.

City are having a freak season and its not even over yet

Arsenal had one, we had one and Leicester had one

It happens and everytime it does people decry the death of the PL and how its gonna be like LaLiga.

The top 4 has become a top 6 and we have the likes of Leicester winning the league, its a superb season by City so far but doesnt mean anything in the long run

This is a snapshot of the league winners for the last 12 years

2004 Chelsea
2005 Chelsea
2006 Man United
2007 Man United
2008 Man United
2009 Chelsea
2010 Man United
2011 Man City
2012 Man United
2013 Man United
2014 Chelsea
2015 Leicester
2016 Chelsea

See a pattern? I suspect City to feature in that list A LOT more over the next 5 years. United have always had money, City and Chelsea have only started winning in recent times since getting a huge injection of cash. Leicester was a freak anomaly, they will never win the league again.

Yes you are right, its not like La Liga at all, there are three horses in this race instead of two wink

I said at the end of last season that I saw Tottenham on the verge of becoming either the next Utd as they were under Fergy, they had all the makings of a great team. Or they were going to become the next Arsenal after their move to the Emirates, strangled slightly by paying for the stadium, struggling to compete for top players, etc. On this seasons form so far it looks more likely Spurs will go the way of Arsenal.

I also think Arsenal are going to drop off if they don't get top four this season. They'll almost certainly lose Sanchez and Ozil and then their team really does look quite mediocre.

I think we'll see the top six become more of a top four again. I just hope it doesn't become like the Bundesliga with City being like Bayern.

Unfortunately it was never going to be the case until the new stadium comes along and revenues increase significantly.

As shown this off season there are 5 other clubs that can blow Spurs out of the water when it comes to transfers/wages. Even if Spurs had won the league last year they could have kept their players (which they pretty much did anyway) but any of the big names would go elsewhere.

Yes, the pattern is clubs in Manchester won the League 7 of the last 10 times... the conclusion is you built your new stadium in the wrong city it seems!

Apparently your wage bill last year was very close to ours which shows you can at least compete with us on wages. But I imagine the proportion of your wage bill that was performance based was a lot higher which had led to your wage bill being higher in the last couple of seasons where you've done well in the league.

Not so sure why we are down in the dumps TBH

We are a few points adrift of this time last season, we have safely got out of the milk cup, or what ever it's called these days, we are in the last 16 of the Champions league & we are having to endure playing at that lifeless god awful st house, soul less bowl of s stadium for more than half of our games, not to mention having a few guaranteed first team starters on long term injuries .

Think we need to lighten up & admire the fantastic team & manager we have.

fk me , at least we are competing with the big money boys & i can recall many years that we weren't.

As has been said many times, it’s not even close.

From Swiss Rambles analysis from annual reports.

Would you choose to live in Liverpool were you to be offered a way out?

The point, I suppose, is the glory of nights like the Real match.

People will sneer. But, now trophies are acquired by scions of corrupt, medieval regimes, or criminals who steal from the tables of those they were meant to serve.

Our club are trying to be as honourable as this godforsaken sport allows it to be. As are Arsenal. Even Liverpool's owners Are, at heart, deeply knowledgeable about top flight sport.

Chelsea? City? There's no glory whatsoever n their achievements. Their owners could have done the same with Fulham or Tranmere.

That's entire wage bill - we're a worldwide club with offices, shops and training centres around the world. I believe our squad wage bills are a lot closer. If I can be bothered I'll try and find the figures I saw a few weeks back (I did post them on here at the time).

You're living in a dream world. Liverpools wage bill is 10s of millions per year more. It's not even close.
