Apparently managers have no impact on players. One of the dumbest comments I've ever heard. (Not from you by the way).

Just shows the difference of a good coach, Kane and Ali looked crap under the coaching influence of a crap coach in southgate.

Yup, I don't hold out much hope for Neville.

Which probably means it's based on some weird stats algorithm which is biased towards age, fitness, etc while scoring lower on brand appeal, track record etc. With all the best will in the world, there is no way in hell Ali or Kane are worth more than Messi, Rondaldo etc, proven world beaters with a brand appeal that would probably guarantee several hundred million in shirt sales alone.

I was a bit concerned when I noticed Pogba was on the list.

Age plays a massive factor in the value though. Alli and Kane have another potential 10-12 years at the top. Messi is 29 and Ronaldo is 32. So they only have 3 or 4 years left. Their brand appeal and shirt sales will be worthless when they have retired.

It factors in which clubs the players are currently contracted too also. That's why there are lots of EPL players on the list; because all the EPL clubs are rich, it would take a huge amount to persuade them to sell their best players. It should also be noted that it's not a "valuation or worth" of the player, it's the predicted transfer fee required for a player to be sold. So for example, Messi is 29 and only has 1 year left on his contract, of which it sounds like he wants £500k a week.....so £130m sounds like a realistic price if Barca tried to cash-in on him this summer.

So you think Kane and Ali are worth £130m odd and more than Messi?

If someone offered us £270m for the pair, I'd bite their arm off. That would almost pay for the new stadium. smile
