Don’t get this biggest clubs bks, Chelsea don’t have the stature or history of a Liverpool or United but young players probably care less about that. Much more interested in current ambitions and intent, who they will play with and what they get paid, and location. City have fk all history or culture but continue to attract talent because they pay huge wages, have a great squad and Pep.
Chelsea pay high wages, have a decent squad and London is way more desirable than the damp NW for foreign players (and I say this as a London based Liverpool fan)

When people talk about 'biggest' clubs what they really mean is 'wealthiest' clubs, history means fk all to the modern mercenary footballer who is controlled by some ruthless agent. After all, the likes of Blackpool and Notts county have a st load of history and bugger all money.Chelsea pay high wages, have a decent squad and London is way more desirable than the damp NW for foreign players (and I say this as a London based Liverpool fan)

Don’t have the history of Liverpool ? Eh ? We are 114 years old and have won the premier league a few times. We even won the old Division 1 if you care to look ( as well as loads of other cups) You, on the other hand, haven’t The premier league at all, so I’m puzzled by your statement. Or do you only count the 70s and 80s towards ‘history’ and forget the stuff either side ?Chelsea pay high wages, have a decent squad and London is way more desirable than the damp NW for foreign players (and I say this as a London based Liverpool fan)
I’m even more perplexed by your ‘city don’t have culture’ statement. What is that supposed to mean ?

I was actually supporting the notion that a player would want to play for Chelsea when someone suggested they should move to a “big club”I’m even more perplexed by your ‘city don’t have culture’ statement. What is that supposed to mean ?
I can’t be bothered to engage on the rest as it was all pretty clear what I meant

Good start. Then......
Chelsea fans shouldn't fret too much. You were always going to struggle against a strong, determined, pacy Utd side looking for silverware this season.
You played well against Liverpool and should have won comfortably.
You should let fat Frank settle in for a few seasons.

We won a European trophy before Liverpool did. We don't have the history though. Chelsea pay high wages, have a decent squad and London is way more desirable than the damp NW for foreign players (and I say this as a London based Liverpool fan)

We could have been 4 or 5 goals behind after the first 15 minutes, but then I thought we were unlucky not to win it at the end. I think our first couple of games show its going to be close for the 6th 7th and 8th positions in the table.
Still too early to tell. I don't know your squad that well, but we were missing quite a few - and had to play Liverpool in Istanbul on Wednesday where as you had a free week - that quick start from us really took it's toll in the 2nd half....I didn't celebrate mount's goal. At first glance, it looked like there might have been a foul on Indeedi, so I was waiting to see if there would be a VAR check. Then, after about 30 seconds, it appeared all was good, but by then the moment had passed.
The game is dead as far as I am concerned. This'll be my last season I think. Gutted. Used to love football.
My brother is a Brighton fan and their VAR check that eventually disallowed their goal on Saturday didn't get resolved until the ball was on the centre spot waiting for WHU to kick off. He also says he's done with it.

We've been told to stop moaning about it and it's here to stay but so many moaners can't be wrong !! Even the pundits are now seeing the damage it's causing the game, as Danny Murphy said "football has never been a perfect game and never should be", I totally agree. The game is dead as far as I am concerned. I've been having this conversation from when it was first mutedFootball will be better when we get the big decisions right.
Me: why?
Well...it's obvious innit.
Me: not to me, so tell me why.
Coz the big decisions will be right.
Me: err, that may be, but why is that better?
What d'ya mean mate...obviously that's better.
Me: why?
Coz they're right.
Me: err, that may be, but why is that better?
Rinse and repeat. Still waiting for an answer.
Sometimes I get "the big teams get it all their own way, VAR will stop that"
Mmmmm, let's see the table at the end of the season. I have a hunch the top 6 might not look too different to last season.
I think Man City will get more pens than Sheff Utd......because they'll spend a lot longer in the opposition pen area.
