Went into the game with zero expectation. At the end of it I feel deflated! Football in a nutshell.

Bar the one costly error, they were all fantastic tonight. Wonderful and thoroughly deserved goal for Willian.

I have hope for second leg...

Can't decide if that was good or bad. Thought we showed them too much respect.

Yes, Barca keep the ball for ever and make a zillion passes but they never really had many goal scoring opportunities. They needed a mistake at the back to let them back in, Thibaut's had busier nights I'm sure. May be different back at Barca but if we have the same work-rate and desire then I'm hopeful, could be one of those memorable escapes. thumbup

I don't know why everyone is saying that wasn't the Barcelona of old, it's how I've always remembered them

They do pass it around with great ease & assurance don't they.

I think those two shots that hit the post will cost you , on another day they could of gone in & then everything is different.

I think you will struggle in the return leg but Chelsea have been in worse positions & still managed to get through.

...and still Barcelona have to beat us with 11 men on the pitch. No-one get sent off in the return & it's in the bag. We have form for going to the Nou camp & pincing 2-2 draws.

Barca should win this one fairly easily. They are in great form and on course for the treble.
Absolutely spot on again, honestly I don't know how you do it!

People saying our masterplan worked a treat, apart from that one error.

But what was their plan? Keep probing, passing, pressing and retain possession, and eventually they'll make an error? If so, there's worked even better.

It's all very well bemoaning our misfortune, but if you finish a home game with 30% possession, you can't really have too many complaints if it doesn't go your way.

If we've learnt one thing over the years possession is irrelevant against Barcelona.

agreed, they did nothing much with the possession they had, I imagine a large proportion of it was in their own 1/3

Were you happy with Willian last night, normally his biggest critic ?

He's transformed. My pep talk has worked wonders.

Really - genuinely curious why, thought he and hazard have been your stand out players for this season and last. Is he a MOTD highlights player?

Willian definitely is at times. He can be terrible for large stretches, then score a wonderful free kick

Sometimes his decision making can be awful - holds on to the ball for too long, lacks the killer pass, arrogant when playing out of his own half. However, it seems he's stepped up big style, and the issues that I've mentioned now seem to be bugging Pedro - It's easy to try too hard when there's 3 top quality players fighting for 2 places. I imagine if Musonda does well, he'll be replacing one of the two.

We're all over them. If Morata could hold the ball up and Moses deliver a decent cross we'd be well ahead.

Unfortunately despite being dominant we're drawing.

Losing.

Unless he's injured, why take your best player off, doesn't compute. 20mins to go is a long time. This Utd team are not good under pressure, and you've let them off the hook here.

Second half wasnt good enough. We dropped off a cliff but still felt a draw would have been fair. United were there for the taking. Only got ourselves to blame

Agreed.

Bright start limp finish.

We can play fancy dan football for periods but we can't close out a game.

This season's a write off.

The intensity you played with going behind - why can't you (and others) play like that when it's 1-1 - Citeh do, so it ain't impossible. And they do it against ALL the other clubs, not just the minnows. Definitely gave a point away there today.
