My first game of the season tonight v Valencia. Hoping to go to Lille away too, tickets go on sale tomorrow.
Good luck. Lille have built a really good team recently so looks like a great away day!

Was going to go along to Ajax, but starting a new job 2 weeks before so though it best not to.

Lille is a great city. Stadium is about 5m out of the centre though.

Tricky group... lose the your 1st game & at home the pressure is immediately on Win it things look good.

Think it has to be your strongest team,

I hope so. Get thru the group and it's a cup competition, so we have an outside chance of winning it. Of course, we're nowhere near as good as many others in the CL, but we weren't in 2012 either.

Thru the group, a fortunate draw up to the semis, and a bit of luck after that, and who knows.

(I won't be having any money on it though)

Yep.

We played OK last night - harsh to lose tbf. Must remember, we had Rudiger, Kante, CHO, RLC all out, Mount went off early too.

True but take away 2/3 out the main spine of any side and it isn't as good. We really need Rudiger and Kante back asap. Having said that, thought we played ok defensively, but switched off for their goal.

Part one of that plan is looking tougher now.

And it makes part 2 less likely as well.

I think Chelsea will end in 3rd place.

I really don't know what to expect from this team! You may be surprised once one or two other players are back....

3rd would be fine by me this season and would exceed my expectations... Given the circumstancesI'm more than happy with the way that things are going and the way that the team is playing.

Got tickets for Lille, and a cheap deal on Eurostar. And a cheap hotel for the night.

Definitely hard to predict this season, although I'm still laughing at the West Ham fan who rung 606 saying they'd get third.

I thought he meant 3rd place in the Champions League group.

3rd in the Premiership is out of reach this season, I think.

3rd in the group is a disaster.

3rd in the prem feels impossible.

Anything below Europa places is probably a sacking...

I think we'll get out of the group personally. But if we don't it certainly doesn't warrant a sacking

You're right, it isn't. If we go out, get no silverware and don't get any form of European football I think Roman will pull the trigger. Once the defence is sorted however I think we're fine.

Great to see CHO sign a five year deal and now to get Fikayo Tomori to sign a new long term deal.
