Chelsea have offered the NHS full use of Stamford Bridge's Millennium Hotel.

Staff from NW London hospitals will stay there to save long commutes, as they help patients suffering from Coronavirus.

Abramovich has also committed to picking up all costs.

Class effort clap

Great work from someone who the last Conservative administration effectively booted out of the UK to get back at Putin. Meanwhile, "proper British" billionaires are demanding handouts to save their airline.

Now Roman, in conjunction with Emma Hayes, the women's team mananger, is supporting domestic abuse charity Refuge, who have been inundated with a large increase in calls from women stuck inside with abusive partners.

I definitely think the govt have missed a trick, when outlining the reasons why you are allowed to leave your home (exercise, unavoidable work etc), they should have added "because you don't feel safe".

They have - under medical reasons, they include escaping the risk of harm. The risk of harm statement seems fairly open ended, so can mean physical, mental etc.

So much for Chelski being classless...……

…..maybe some of those great English football institutions with all their history should take note....

Fair enough. Hadn't spotted that.

So, to summarise our dealing with Covid19:

All staff on full pay, hotel open for NHS staff with all meals and soft drinks free, squad donating to charities, ex players phoning up older fans to check on them , online courses to help kids, donating to women's refuge charity, most of the medical staff loaned to the NHS whilst still paid by the club.

Have I missed anything?

You missed furloughing non playing staff and breaking quarantine to train

Or was that one of the 'classier' clubs?

Good to see you back...… as I say he owed nothing to the UK, certain clubs with all their history & class decided to furlough their non-playing staff & take from the government (until they realized that was going to be a PR disaster).

You may also find Abramovich has donated substantial sums to charities, also whilst governer of a region in Russia paid from his own pocket for infrastructure, schools & hospitals. None of this was necessary.

Everyone is entitled to their views on how he came by his wealth. Many wealthy people will have unsavory pasts. The question is what are they doing now?

Hmmm...so a bit of charity now buys you out of your previous misdemeanors?

Not sure you'd agree if you'd been on the receiving end of those transgressions.

Not just accusations. Arrested at 4 in the morning after the female phoned the police stating she was unwell and had been raped.

Surely they are accusations of rape just now as it hasn't been proven?

Oh absolutely. I'm not saying anything has been proven. Just that he had been arrested.

You'd think footballers might learn/be told to stay clear of women of a particular background or profession....

Or get them to sign a letter of consent !!! (witnessed by a solicitor of course ).
