A very small number got to become billionaires out of the total population. Improving the wealth of a nation does not mean allowing a small group to plunder the assets. He’s a criminal, not a loveable rogue, as much as you think he’s some sort of modern day Robin Hood, he’s not.

When do the nominations for knighthoods close?

You should give Boris a shout - he's been open to giving honours to those close to Putin in the past.

Likely the only reason that RA hasn't been honoured already is his lack of a £3m donation to the Conservatives

You should read up on the history of the place........its been like pretty much forever. Stalin didn't exactly live like a pauper while the peasants starved....well those that he hadn't already chucked into a gulag.

Has it been confirmed where the £3bn goes?

Think RA is still trying to claim his 1.5bn loan via various sham offshore companies

He has made a statement to expressly deny that.

The irony of complaining about corrupt done on a few million quid, when defending someone who did it on the level of billions, laugh

FFS.....
It's not about whether its OK by yours or anyone else's measurement. Its about understanding how things work (or don't) in other countries, and in particular in Imperial Russia/USSR/Russian Federation.
Applying a cosy western mentality to most areas of what is now Russian Federation, China, Indian subcontinent, most of Africa, the Middle East and a lot of south and central America is just being thick to the fact that the world is not equal or have the same values across continents, never has and it never likely will.
Something you keeping being deliberately obtuse in grasping. I guess you're a person that likes the sound of their own voice as well.

Maybe those whining about RA could post up links to their threads bemoaning the behaviour of Russian Oligarchs in general and how they and various other unsavoury regimes have been welcomed by the UK with open arms for decades.

Unless it only matters that they can score points against a rival football club and otherwise don't give a toss of course.

Of course they don’t give a toss. Some people never consider where most of their essential st comes from. China, Russia, Gulf, West Africa…. All sorts of unsavoury places if you want to really care, but god forbid you could do without the latest iPhone or petrol or gas or whatever…..

Just because that’s how a country operates doesn’t mean we should accept that. Apartheid was pretty horrific, as a result South Africa was isolated for years, or should we have just said, it’s OK and taken their money? Should we let Russia come here and kill people with radioactive poison, because “it’s what they do” and we shouldn’t judge their values, a little bit of gang rape from the odd ethnic group? Maybe a little bit of ethnic cleansing. Where do you draw the line? Despite you calling me thick, your argument is simplistic at best and I wouldn’t expect it from anyone who has even the slightest grasp of the adult world.

Why do I need to publicly decry people for you to be happy? I have actually said that I disagree with the City and Newcastle ownership regimes. Their human rights records are horrific, but you’d just accept that “as it’s their values and who are we to judge” based the simpleton’s argument above.

And again, just be said we have a corrupt government that welcomes dodgy money, doesn’t make it OK.

Well you are choosing to publicly decry people, which is fine. You seem to spend a lot of your time doing it on the football threads, but it doesn't seem 'that' important to you in any other context.

Given the above I'm wondering whether your real motivation is global human rights, equality in Russia / Saudi Arabia or just trolling the supporters of rival clubs.

I’m not a political activist. I have views and principles that I live my life by. I enjoy football, so find myself on here discussing football a lot, amd motorbike racing. I’m not exactly chuffed with them racing in the Middle East either and think I’ve said so on that.

Anyway,I’m don’t have to justify myself, I know that I’m unlikely to defend a corrupt billionaire just because they own my football club.

In the same way almost all the Chelsea fans defend RA only because he's given you success. He's proven that sports washing works. You and Twig call out Boris etc for being corrupt for taking a million here and there. Yet say a word against RA and for sure Twig and maybe you are out fighting for him as one of the nicest Russians there is because he's (according to Wikipedia) given away a bunch of wealth. The irony is I could go on Wiki and in a few clicks he'd not have given that money to charity. Sports washing works, because fans are willing to support corrupt/evil people if they help provide the club success. So in return for your question about where are the posts complaining about other corrupt people - why are you complaining about Boris as corrupt when you're perfectly happy with RA, who did it on a far far far bigger level?

What are the thoughts on our new owners?

It's better than us going through hell in the press this month.

My only reservation is its multiple owners in the consortium which will pain decision making on purchases/sales of players.

Tuchel will stay as well I think until it's his choice to leave (if he wants to).

Fair enough, so where do the proceeds go?

How is he a criminal , serious question. Are you seriously suggesting schmoozing and manoeuvering to win advantageous terms in auctions in that environment was anything out of the ordinary.
He doesn't appear to have broken any laws of the country - You may not think its fair or right and you may have a point but its a fact it happens all over the world -
Now, having got his 2.5 billion of asset (for about 600 million ) he's made some perfectly legal and very astute decisions to make it a lot more.

I'm sure he's no angel but I can't see he has much if anything to do with what's happening in the Ukraine and he's been a pretty good custodian of Chelsea Football Club
