From A6 BiTDI to 2016 RS3?

I am considering swapping my late 2013 A6 Avant BiTDI with 40.000 km to a 2016 RS3 with 15.000 km. Price to swap: about 15.000 euro.
I mainly use the A6 for long motorway hauls in France and Germany, which it does very well (thanks to the large fuel tank and relative economy of the BiTDI engine) but after a string of M cars, I have an itch for something more interesting and indeed faster.
I find the RS3 package intriguing, well-packaged (mega) hot-hatch and that engine, but does it work as long distance hauler (the specific RS3 I am looking at does not have magnetic ride) and is the range acceptable?

We have previously had an A6 3.0TDi, which I found very comfortable and great for long distances through France, but Mrs.H always complained of bad back.
Last September took our RS3 to S of France (1500km) in one run, and we both found it very comfortable and smooth for that distance on the motorways. (Surprisingly). Downside is a max of 350 miles on a tank of fuel - averaged 32mpg and good autoroute speeds, but realistically need to look for a fuel stop at 300 miles to be safe.
Very small tank.! One thing that lets it down is the range. If we use it for going to work, (150 mile round trip), we have to fill up every other day.

Sounds similar to my S5. I didnt spec Magnetic Ride. (think is also comes with sports exhaust as a pack).
The car was bought for everyday use, (17k miles in 12 months), mostly A roads and motorways, so wanted a quiet and 'normal' ride.
Never had any plans to take it to a track, so the std suspension and normal exhaust were fine for me.
