Hi,

I'm about to move into a new place and I'm looking at one renovation project that wifey and I would like to get done but we have no idea of costs or where to really start with it.

In the image above you can see what is a slightly dated / tired outdoor room that we would like to modernise, we are hoping to remove the existing glass and doors in the areas I have highlighted in red and go for some big glass doors that we can open this space up fully in the summer.

The blue area I have highlighted is some old wooden cladding that I want to get replaced with zinc cladding.

Anyone here have a very rough idea of cost for such a project and if it would be within the scope of needing an architect or not? I don't think there would be much of a big planning process here to go through either.

Any hints or tips on where we should start with such a project would be welcomed!

Cheers

Don't think you will need a architect if just those two things but may be wrong.

You will need a structural engineer to specify the steel beam over the bi-folds though.

Thanks.

I'm hoping to involve the least amount of people possible.

Anyone with the most roughest costs..?

Doors/sliders budget roughly £1k p/mtr run
Roof - look at Tata Colorcoat Urban (fitted price roughly £35-50 psqm)
