I seem to recall on average only 3% of corners result in a goal? That was in one of Tomkin's articles that used to be posted on here.
There seems to have been a offer (loan) for Sturridge:

Only 0.16% of throw-ins taken by left footed players on the right flank result in headers scored by defensive midfielders with an S in their surname and size 9 boots. There seems to have been a offer (loan) for Sturridge:

last nights was certainly his fault though.
I don't blame him at all - at least he went to clear itFirmino jumped in front of him and misjudged the flight / is too much of a short arse
bit unlucky where it landed, and Swansea got a lucky connection in putting it right in the corner - just one of those unfortunate ones IMHO

Quite clearly was not his fault
Obviously every goal is going to be micro analysed to prove what a donkey he is.Quite clearly was not his fault
However on would hope over a short period time he will become a leader capable of organising those around him so they don't run round like headless chickens.
Otherwise nothing will materially change.

Nonsense I'm not mocking him, it doesn't make him a bad player or a waste of money or anything like that it's far too early to draw and conclusions on that front. Quite clearly was not his fault
The goal though he steamed in without calling over two of his colleagues and headed it straight on to the Swansea players foot...of course it was his mistake.
For what it's worth other than that I thought he looked pretty imposing and certainly gives you more presence at the back.

You really might want to watch it againThe goal though he steamed in without calling over two of his colleagues and headed it straight on to the Swansea players foot...of course it was his mistake.

He doesn't leave "his area" he is meant to cover for zonal marking..the other 2 back right into him and Gomez even runs into him
None of the 2backing in would get the ball either was going over them

I'd like to see Gomez given a rest to be honest. He's made a number of mistakes over the last couple of months and I think TAA deserves more of a chance.
The next couple of games could be more of the same, don't see why teams wouldn't play them tactics against us all the time as it seems to be effective. I'm guessing more rotation which will be good to give the regulars a bit of a reboot. If that's the case it'd be good to see Ings on to replace Firmino, try to get Henderson back in the swing of things and maybe give Salah a break for Lallana.
As for the captain, VvD gets my vote.

totally agree, Gomez is promising and he can iron out the misjudgments - but a couple of times v Swansea I was shouting at him - a marked reluctance to attack down the line when he had space to do so , he may not have got to the box but it would have created space for the central playersAdam B said:

I'd like to see VvD given the armband too but from next season onwards. Give him the rest of the season to find his feet at Anfield. They offered it to PC last summer so they obviously are thinking of changing from Hendo
I doubt Hendo will be with us much longer than another season or two. The fact that we've gone after Keita and really tried hard to sign Goretzka I think shows that Klopp wants to transform the midfield. I imagine we'll be in for another midfielder this summer in addition to Keita and if Hendo can't remain uninjured then we'll move him on either this summer or next.
