Hi

I owned a WRX (from new) around 15 years ago and have a hankering after another (though STi this time).

I’m not sure how it will feel after owning modern (automatic) cars for the last few years. It wont be a daily driver as such, more a weekend and occasional use car.

Do you think i’ll regret it and any thoughts on whether or not £10k will get me a decent one? Ideally standard with a Prodrive pack.

I used to own a 2004 WRX , it was three years old and I was 21. I loved every minute with it. Only the insurance cost was ruining me. Had it for a few faultless years.

I love the Hawkeye shape , especially the STI version. But the 2.5 engine scares me with it's potential problems. If I had around 10k I would want a JDM Hawkeye with the 2.0 engine.

If I couldn't wait for that I would probably buy this one ( only looked at auto trader BTW).

ETA.

I also had a N/A hatch impreza for a couple of years. Again trouble free bar some slight niggle with the sigma alarm.

^^ I'd do a quick search on Scoobynet regarding Cheshire Performance (and their various alternative names)

Good advice.

Shame, it looked unmolested and is wearing premium rubber :-(

Couldn't go for this, what with the apostrophes and everything missing. smile
