Hi folks, can anyone recommend a hotel in Palma- need an overnight stay Saturday 30th September. Ideally no more than £150 and somewhere I can wander for a bite and get some culture (not that kind of culture..).

Thanks.

Just come back from Palma myself, a night on the way back from Pollensa, first time I've been so I can't make any real suggestions.

Had a quick check on a few sites, looks like you'll be lucky to find anything other than hostels with availability right in the centre and very little further out. It came up with one in a backstreet all the way down by the castle and a handful further along still. Marriot AC Hotels in Santa Catalina which is fairly central and a great area to get a bite to eat, £176 via the website.

I can strongly recommend the Catalonia Majórica but at £167 it's a bit over budget. One of the Best 4* in Palma.

Thanks for the suggestions, the prices appear to be dropping so I'll risk holding off for the moment.

We stayed here (booked direct) last year:

It's cheap too. Bang in the centre but in its own courtyard

I stayed in the Brondo Architect hotel a couple of years ago. Very pleasant and reasonably priced.

+1 for Hotel Born - stayed there several times, well priced and superb location. Otherwise the Almudaina - more modern but just around the corner and with a cracking rooftop terrace for views across to the cathedral/harbour.

A while ago I stayed in Hotel Bo and would go back in a shot. Also, a quick walk to Abaco which ranks as one of the most atmospheric and chilled bars I've been in anywhere.
