Yup.

Interesting comment from Wenger...

The Frenchman said: "Players are going to the end of the contracts for one simple reason: the transfers are too high.

"The agents say to the (buying) club, 'I bring him to you at the end of the contract, but you give me a big agent's fee.' So that basically is killing the transfers, and you will have more and more players going to the end of their contract because of that."

Would be quite a signing. Can he play in the Champions League? If so get him in.

The problem that Wenger describes only arises because football ‘agents’ consistently breach their duties to players & probably don’t even understand what it means to act in the interests of another person!

City won't up their offer any more than 20 million, because they know the player really wants to go there and play for Pep.

Not bothered either way because Jesus will be fit in 2/3 weeks.
Really, I thought Jesus would be back in 2/3 days?
Jesus is always with us.
Why Did you resurect his post ?

Football has had ‘free agents’ for a very, very long and it has done no harm. Clubs either get players on long term contracts or they don’t. If they don’t, they face the problem that Arsenal now have with Sanchez.
Contracts being run down used to be a rarity and split public opinion, nowadays it’s accepted as the norm. What it also means is that a player can force a mega deal out of a club with a long term contract (c5 years), but then within a couple of years can agitate for and force a move elsewhere, effectively rendering the contract worthless. The latter bit has started to happen more and more in recent years. It’s also happening to the bigger clubs, my comment was more that the frequency is increasing.

Well there is no doubt this Sánchez thing is picking up steam .
Amusing to see arsenal fans preferring him to go to city because they are not ‘genuine rivals’

Looks like he's going somewhere.....left out the match day squad today.

Also seen reports that we've done a pre-contract agreement with Bale for the summer. Not sure about that one if its true

According to Sky, there’s no imminent news due from United and City are tight lipped too

I thought Bale had a contract for a good few years yet with Real.

I can’t help but think this has been expertly managed by Arsenal to force the move in January & bump up the price. I’d like him to join United but I think he will want to rejoin Pep and the current City brand of football.

I have no doubts at all about our ability to attract players, but this has all the hallmarks of one of those transfers where we’re in pole position and then something leftfield happens instead.

Looking ever more like four teams competing for three CL spots, I’m excluding one spot and one team as they’re long gone.

Hard to know what to want in this match.

City are out of sight, but I cannot help wanting them to lose. But I always want Liverpool to lose. Can they both lose, please?

It's a draw now, I've decided to just cheers cards and injuries.

.....and a draw. Games like these are obvious "cheer for a draw" affairs. Two points each dropped :-)

City will probably win it in injury time which will then be greeted with a unanimous shout of "Its not faaaaaaair" from the Kop laugh
