I was wanting to say "Don't ask Rashford, as he wasn't born then" but he makes it by a few years. Bit scary how quickly time is passing! Seems like just yesterday that it was impossible to avoid it after it just happened.

What it does show is how difficult it was to achieve, especially in light of what happened on Monday night in Wigan. I don’t think any English team has come close before or since and I don’t think they will. I know Bayern have done it, and assuming the either Barca or Real have too, but their leagues are pretty poor competitively speaking to the PL.

I agree. The Treble was a once in a lifetime event. It may never happen again. A special set of circumstances and special manager in the perfect storm of a team who refused to accept any loss until the game was actually over.
The double is still a tremendous event but it's difficult to imagine any team recreating the "Fergie" type era again now.
