i think Sanchez was rusty from not giving 2 craps at Arsenal at the end, he hasnt looked sharp or on it yet. he will bed in though, but it should be not at the expense of others if hes off colour. Lukaku seems to have played through his dead spell, and be brighter. regardless of comments about him this season hes already scored a lot of goals.

There’s more to it than that. Sanchez seems to have unbalanced the team, I had great hopes for him being one of the final pieces in the jigsaw, as it currently stands I think he’s dismantled it! Martial needs to learn to smile. He’s a miserable tt and his slow walk off the pitch when substituted hints at an unhappy player to say the least.
There’s little point talking about building a head of steam, when we seem to have been put in the freezer, to extend your analogy.
You can't expect Sanchez to walk in to the team, to instantly gel with the players and dramatically improve our performances. He's a great player but it will take time to find his best position and how we can best use him. There’s little point talking about building a head of steam, when we seem to have been put in the freezer, to extend your analogy.
AM trudging off the pitch yesterday wasn't received well by the fans at all...I had to bite my lip a little.

Things have gone really quiet on that front.
Yes JM spends money but if he has an asset at his disposal that he feels can do a job regardless of age he's clearly happy to use him. I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that the proud record United have of bringing (some) youngsters through the ranks is one of the things that attracted him to United in the first place.
To be fair i think it still is a fair point, buy lukaku who misses out most... Rashford, buy Sanchez who makes way? lingard. its not exactly putting faith in the youngsters is it? that sat the midfielder looks very good indeed just needs Mouniho to stick with him. ALL the 1st team players will get regular gametime. Nobody misses out, including the young players.
Besides why play with one striker when you can play with three!
All the young players you mention have played in plenty of games this season (35 Lingard, 38 Rashford), and will play a few more until the end.
Besides JL's new 4 year deal signed last year at reportedly £100K+ per week tends to suggest that JM has faith in him.

Rashford looked excellent last season and has been little more than bit part player this.
There's a reason why JM has the reputation he does im not even saying its wrong but its certainly not been made up.

Aside from his woeful tracking back of Willian for their goal McT looked great. I'm sure he'll watch that and learn from it.
Second half was a great performance. You won't get many chances vs Chelsea, so it takes some moments of brilliance. Both moments came from Lukaku. A great move for the first goal, with a tidy finish and great footwork and cross for Lingard's. He also showed good confidence with that overhead kick.
The only strange point was DDG replicating some dodgy 2012 form. I'm hoping it was just the sun in his eyes!
Been really impressed with McT this season, seems to have grabbed his chance with both hands and really getting his head down and performing in games. Also looks to have a good attitude in games in terms of workrate which is always good. Second half was a great performance. In terms of DDG it did look more to do with the sunshine, but to be fair he has earned the odd off game every now and then.

I agree about Lingard. If Sanchez doesn't perform, like with Pogba, he can expect to be dropped. It's as simple as that.

United don't look like they’ve given up to me. We’re not playing well, but we won. We’ve had some poor results in the league recently, but we’re still in second, so not sure what your point is. We can’t win the league this season, nor can anyone other than City. However, the reality is that finishing 2nd, 3rd or 4th makes little difference. All places are losers, but all get CL football the following season.
I have to say, it matters to me. anniesdad said:

Maybe I was hoping for too much, but he looks lost. That’s not great from someone who was rated so highly. AM trudging off the pitch yesterday wasn't received well by the fans at all...I had to bite my lip a little.
He’s trying too hard and trying to do it all himself when making a simple pass and helping to set up a goal would be better than trying to dance through 10 opposition players even if it did come off once in every dozen times of trying.

Fair points but adding quality means others have to step up. None of the players seem unhappy with their lot at OT, even the likes of Luke Shaw who seems overlooked regularly appears to accept things the way they are.

You have to feel a bit sorry for lingard, he's been your player of the season imo, although like you say though he doesnt seem unduly unhappy, cant say the same of Pogba or martial though. I agree about Lingard. If Sanchez doesn't perform, like with Pogba, he can expect to be dropped. It's as simple as that.
Ive a sneaking suspicion that you've got a bit of a dud with Sanchez so hopefully (for England) Lingard gets himself back into the team,

I have to say, it matters to me. It doesn’t matter to me, as I don’t celebrate or get excited about losing.
Not that I give a fk what you think. However, all your Spuddies pals just want CL football amd that’s all they ever talk about, so maybe the view is wider than your ABU stance.

He was in and out of the game. Certainly one of his better games, but he's still not good enough in my view.
Fair enough, we're all entitled to our opinions. Who would you play as our regular 9? Personally, I think AM is a bit too lazy, Rashford not ruthless enough, Sanchez better operating deeper, Ibra past it now. Buy somebody? Who?...
With RL the expectation is that he will get you 25-30 goals a season and he's on target for that. Surely that's how strikers are judged on their goal return?

To be fair, I don't care about the money. It's all going to charity anyway. I ALWAYS care about being above the scousers. And this year, I care about being above the Spuds (the southern scousers) as well. I know we don't win trophies for it.
That’s fair enough and I’d like that too, but in the cold light of day all finishing 2-4th does is give bragging rights and little else. selym said:

I’m anything other than an angry person, nor am I a loon, I was just using the type of language you chose to use about “fking Mourinho”, I thought that was how you chose to converse. Alpinestars said:

I'm the same. Hate to admit it but it's been really st finishing below the Spuds the last few years. It matters to me that we finish above both them and Utd.jammy-git said:

Does anyone really care about Spurs? If it wasn't for the posters on here I really wouldn't care.
Not the case with UTD.
