Really? I think today was as much about getting through the game without any injuries as it was about getting a win.

I'd much rather take a draw today and a win on Wednesday than a win today and a loss against Roma because we've got a squad on their knees.
Yes really.
Whether it's the players or the attitude I don't know but we had no energy anywhere today. We should at least have tried to blow them away for 30 mins then fannied around.

If we had rested firmino and Salah then fair enough but we didn't and we still didn't win. Double fail.

Next Sunday at the Bridge could be a very big game. I think we'll turn up for that one once Roma are out of the way.

By my rough calculations, we get a draw in that game we will effectively qualify for next seasons CL on goal difference.

Rest Firmino and Salah and used who instead? We only had Solanke on the bench.

I'm all for playing at 80% today if it means we escape injuries and we're fresher for Weds.

Play solanke, ings and Woodburn.
They can score zero equally as well as the a team playing at 80%.

Our game relies on pressure and speed on the changeover of possession.
You can't do that at 80%. Which is why we struggle to close down games when we are winning and want to stroll through to the end.

I am not intending any criticism of any individual player.
It's just the way I see how we play

Woodburn played for Wales last night. Ings played anyway. Solanke is literally our last available striker.

I wouldn't have been disappointed to have played kids, but we're not 100% safe for top four yet, so I agree with Klopp's choice to go with a strong squad and try to get the job done.

Well I voted for 10 changes, but on reflection we probably wouldn't have got away with a point if we did that...

Poor today, but I'm not arsed, we need a big performance on Wednesday, then deal with Chelsea on Sunday week.

I think it could have been a very different result if Salah had scored, and probably the same for Ings offside. Once they sat back that was it.

Didn't realise he played for Wales - wasnt he on the bench or did I read that wrong?

Just having a moan as that was pants.

Eh? No he didn't.

That goal you posted this morning was from the back end of last year.

This is Liverpool. We're likely to lose against Brighton but beat Chelsea.

Am I right in thinking that if we beat Chelsea we guarantee top four?

If we get 3 more points we will get top 4 based on GD more than likely (we have +18 on chelsea). If we draw with Chelsea it’ll be the same. If we beat Chelsea then it’s ours

Normally, but it's clear our focus is on the CL. Even more so given the injuries. Players know it's likely to be one of the biggest games of their life, and when so many are injured it also means they're likely to play. So they want to avoid the risk of getting hurt, and save the energy for the CL.

Looking at the remaining fixtures, IMHO, it’s likely:

City
United
Spuds
Liverpool
Chelsea

Chelsea lead at half time. If Swansea manage somehow turn it around 2nd half and win, we'll effectively get Top 4 on GD. Highly unlikely they'll do it though, if their first half performance is anything to go by.

Well, I would have taken that at the start of the season and will take it now too.

I wouldn't.

CL final would make up for it.
