.....more people hit maximums. ......scored four as did E31 Shrew & Oxford Drinker, both for the second time today.
That table looks a lot healthier tonight!

Not gonna lie, Jacob Lawson's beginning to freak me out now. He was the only one to predict that Japan would beat Colombia 2-1, and that makes four fully correct predictions in a row. What a run of form that is!!

A mention in despatches for Dan1981 who also said Japan would win, the only other person to do so.

Next up this afternoon is Poland v Senegal. If it's 3-1 Poland, the committee will meet to look into the rules re the aforementioned Mr Lawson.... hehe

Zokovic failed to predict for the second matchday round running so if he doesn't predict week three, he will be disqualified under the rules of the World Cup Predictathon.

Poland v Senegal ended the same way with one person getting the score right (this time it was JWVW) and another person getting the result correct, Dan1981. Russia v Egypt was slightly more popular with no one guessing 3-1 but ten people predicting Russia would win.

Table up below.

Is it just me that was waiting for GM to say "with a 3-1 win the hosts are Russian to get to the next round...."

48k - yep, missed that one. I'll have to remember to putin another Russian gag somewhere else instead!

Here's match round 3 games. The deadline for these has been put back to 2.00pm on Monday June 25th to allow folk to have as much time to get their predictions in as possible. Don't feel rushed to get these in straight away, but this just gives you the option to predict when you want.

Re Zokovic. Re-reading the rules, as he didn't predict the first week (or the second week), he will be removed from the next table that appears. I can't email him to gee his predictions up, I can only hope that he didn't take offence at me calling him Novak.... scratchchin

I'm pretty sure that if you'd put money on all your predictions, you'd be well ahead of the bookie at this time.

Well, Portugal winning was a popular result with all nineteen predicting it but nobody guessed 1-0 so it's just a point for everyone.

Funny old day really. Everyone knew there'd be three wins for Portugal, Uruguay and Spain but not one person thought there would even be one 1-0 win, let alone three of them. You would have got short odds on the three goalscorers though with Ronaldo, Suarez and Costa the scorers...

Not much change in the table tonight, pretty much as you were. Still five people averaging a point a game or more after twenty games which is impressive. On the face of it, the next four matches seem easy enough to predict but a shock could throw the whole thing wide open, and we aren't even halfway yet!

Night all.

14 correct results and not a correct score to be seen.

That's frustrating.
