Lovren next to VVD is still one of the best CB pairings in the league.

Now. If we get any more defensive injuries. THEN we have a crisis.
Like TAA being out?

to be fair Utd have a similar if not worse injury problem

Milner is easily good enough to fit in at RB & gives us a more creative midfield IMO.

Hopefully Trent plays, but if he doesn't I'd be hopeful to see a midfield 3 of Keita, Fabinho & Shaq/Gini - IMO much more creative and balanced than Milner, Hendo, Gini...

Not especially worried about Utd - just expecting them to park the bus and for it to be a frustratingly dull game. An early goal for us would help.

I feel the same.

It's a one off derby match and to my mind it's the biggest single match of the season- more important that the Everton game. It's been like this for as long as I can remember which is back to the 70s.
But in the past, it was always them on top and you guys worried about what might happen. There is zilch chance that Maureen is going to come there and try to take you on playing actual football. He'll revert to type and do what he always does, pack the midfield and defence and try to nick one on the break, h has no other choice. Hopefully, you'll score early and upset his plans, but not sit on the 1-0 and go get more - you can score against any defence, and theirs is nothing to write home about ...

Getting one over on Maureen would be sweet for you guys, no doubt, not just because he's their manager.

I see United as a bit of a split personality. Usually play crap but they'll turn up for this one and no doubt try and suckerpunch us. They have individual players that can hurt us.

Glad its not just me, read some fans say "it's only utd" I can't believe any Liverpool fan would really think that.

I've only been there since the late 80's, but like you I agree it's simply the biggest game of the season.

If we played them in the CL final I don't think I'd even be able to cope with watching it. laugh

I'm nervous. Man U is rarely an easy match and their form plays no part how they will be in our game. Also Maureen isn't Klopps biggest fan so expect him to be at his team to win.

The game on Sunday could go any way, history tells us that. But you lot are in pretty good shape and we're, well, being us really.

I hope we give you a game....and come away with 3 points. De Gea will need to be at his best.

United is the biggest game of the season, I’m old enough to remember them beating us in an FA Cup replay back in the 70’s, Jimmy Greenoff scoring the winner, so we always have to be wary of them. Though I’m confident we’ll beat them on Sunday, might change my opinion closer to kick off, but I can’t see them stopping our front three.

Keita and Fab have to start for me, with Gini. Milner if needed at right back.

I became a Liverpool supporter in 1977 during the FA Cup final. We lost but that Liverpool team had a never give up attitude about them and that thankfully swayed me to prefer them to the Mancs smile

So yes always imho the biggest game of the season, first one I look for when the fixtures are announced.

They can still pull it out of the bag for the big games, ask Ronaldo. Rashford is also in a good vein of form at the moment, besides that I don't think we have too much to worry about other than it's likely to be a ste spectacle unless we can break them down early.

Confirmed that TAA is out for a couple of weeks.

Clyne is back so it'll either be him or Milner stepping up again. Would prefer Milner as it would be more likely that both Shaq and Keita will get in the team.

Anyone else think Klopp's response to being asked about Pogba in the press conference was hilarious? "Would you ask Jose about Gini Wjnaldum?" Interesting comparison!
