Yeah he might have been better sitting out the internationals and resting it.

Virgil just his ribs, sounds like he just needs a proper rest
FFS it was ribs before, it’s obviously an ongoing injury that need rest, should have pulled a Fergie card and not played

By the same reckoning he shouldn't have been playing for us whilst injured either.

I'm not keen on the club>country argument.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's using this injury as an excuse to sit out the second pointless friendly.

It's funny how we all seem to think that top players like van Dijk ,Kane etc would prefer to fake an injury to make sure they are 100% fit to play for their clubs rather than represent their countries.

I think if it was a competitive game then it might not be the case. But pointless friendlies, risking injury and missing out on important league and CL games, why bother?

Not friendlies though are they?

We've all suffered over the years. United have had their fair share of injuries due to internationals.

No point crying about it. It is what it is.

The two England ones aren't.

The Dutch one against Germany wasn't but the next one is.

Ah ok. That BBC article that was linked to stated that VVD will miss the Netherlands' next friendly, so I just assumed they were all friendlies.

My point kind of still stands - I wonder if, had it not been a friendly, whether he'd be missing it.

I dunno, but a few more of those headed goals for us wouldn't go amiss.

Gomez was good again tonight. On current form I'd have him over Stones from an England perspective.

Got two this morning, or at least I’ve been promised two.
