Loved it today, I was never concerned but many where as MU could hurt you if they wanted - not this MU they are LFC of 15 years ago bad or even worse. I had to check the big lumbering lummox in midfield was really Matic (it was) god he was crap, I didn’t recognise any others.
Big up for Fab, Robbo & Spongebob!!
Matic was brilliant for Chelsea and then I was jealous when Man Utd signed him. He was brilliant for them but this year he has been awful. I was happy he played yesterday as I knew our midfield would do well agains theirs. Organised and are willing to work for the team.

I hate the way other fans try to knock us down when we are playing well, undeafeted in the league with an organised side and a brilliant manager. They say how we shouldn’t be giddy and positive on how we are top of the league.
WHY SHOULDNT WE?
Football is about enjoying the fking moment!
Yes trophies count but SURELY, SURELY you want to sit down for 90 mins on a Saturday or Sunday and be entertained and your side give it their all?!
So why shouldn’t we be positive and excited that for once, our owners, manager and squad seem to be going in the right direction.

There’s been time in our slump since we were the best in Europe where we have came close to winning the premier league, 2009, 2014, but it hasn’t happened. Lost the champions league last season. That’s it.
Yes it’s st we didn’t win the biggest trophies a domestic club can win but the run ups were exhilarating. Enjoying watching your side play football is what we sit down and hope for.
What some people who travel all over the UK every weekend pray for.

The owners, the recruitment, the manager, the squad all seem to be aligned as one right now.
No divas. Everyone is for the team.

It hasn’t been like this for a while with so much talented lads on show and when it has been and there’s been no glory the exceptional ones have disappeared when Real Madrid and Barcelona have came calling even Chelsea. That shouldn’t be happening to us if we want to stay on an upwards trajectory, unless the player doesn’t fit the system and we can buy 2 world class players for the sum that that person goes for.

2009 and 2014. Imagine we had built on them sides like Man City has been able to do the past so many years with the oil money being pumped in.

I’m positive more than I have ever been right now. I enjoy watching my city’s football team so brilliant.
What more can I ask for?

All depends on Jan 3 for me, but I think it will go to the wire
Jan 3rd is not going to decide anything, even if we lose. We beat City 3-2 in that title chasing season four years ago in late April, extended our lead at the top but still lost out on the title.

I think if we put in a performance that brings belief in a title push, I'd take that.

There always seems to be an excuse, and we're just "lucky" because we haven't played anyone good/ had injuries etc. Also they seem to love saying we're arrogant and yet again going crazy too early on, despite no one posting we're going to win the league. If we drop away they'll yet again pop up saying we were too cocky etc, should have learned etc despite it being them that are saying it. Same also goes for Klopp - I've not heard a Liverpool fan say Klopp needs to win a trophy this season, yet it seems pretty much every main rival's supporters are saying he has to win one this year or consider going.

In terms of comments about the league - who knows. We're not even 1/2 way through the season yet, so anyone could have a bad run of form and drop away rapidly. Spurs are only 5 points behind, so a small dip and suddenly they're the ones who might be pushing City. As of now we're on course for 100 points I believe (we were 1 or 2 games back), the same as City's record breaking season last year. So it's very likely we cannot keep this form up all season. Just have to enjoy the performances and have a tiny bit of hope that we might possibly do it, but keeping realistic.

You wouldn't believe the Evertonian relatives that I have on my social media that I've had to unfollow that spout this ste.
People take happiness away from us not winnings things. To be an Evertonian and see Man Utd or Man City win the league or other trophies is like a win for them without winning themselves.
They even wanted Man City to win against them on the weekend so that we didn't go a few points clear hehe

Great posts, both exactly what I wanted to write but couldn't be arsed wink

Man utd were singing that "they almost won the league" song yesterday.

Do I regret ever joining in and singing "we're gonna win the league" a few years back? no.

Did I laugh at the utd fans singing their version while they were fighting back the tears yesterday? Yep. smile

My steaming service got a major upgrade over the weekend, I can now rewind the stream 24 hours, so I ended up watching 'live' yesterday evening when the kids had gone to bed.

It was a great performance, really enjoyed the game and it was great to be able to stick Shaq on off the bench as a genuine, time to change things, option rather than a lets hope for the best type substiute we've had to throw on in the past.

I thought Clyne had a good game under the circumstances, looked properly sharp at times and I'd not really noticed how fast he is before. Fabinho was excellent, Keita was better than in previous games I think. Didn't miss Milner, which is a great measure of the performance.

I think Jose has properly lost the plot now though hasn't he, his team selections are mad and the subs yesterday were pretty strange. He's got a load of flair players that can't do it without strong players getting on the ball, but he's just picking those players without giving them a base to play off, so they look st. In the second half he took Matic off, put Martial on, then realised that was making the balance even worse, so took Lingard off and put Mata on. Just no thought. But the most telling for me was that Lingard just left Robertson all game, perhaps that was the plan, but how it was allowed to carry on speaks volumes about the manager. Either didn't notice or didn't care. Pogba looked pretty miserable didn't he.

Oh well.

Anyway, if ever there was a season to go balls-deep in January it's this one, you're allowed £60-70m on a player, what position or who would make the biggest difference?

I think we did our business in the summer. We look pretty balanced now, Fab and Keita have both now settled and we have cover pretty much everywhere.

AOC should be back towards the end of the season, which will feel like a signing.

That said Fekir is having another good season but don't see the need to pay inflated January prices.

Couldnt care less about the inflated prices, I think it would be a mistake not to buy a couple players in January and a CB and a striker/playmaker would be top of my list.

Spurs could've won the league the year Leicester won it if they had strengthened in January.

Have a look at city's bench on Saturday, we need that sort of strength to really compete with them.

None are easy, but Dortmund would be a good game, I'd like them tbh.
