Poch press conference at 1pm re tomorrows Arsenal game but I suspect the very first question will be fk all to do with that.

Come on Poch - deflate the Mancs hopes even further.

For what it's worth I'd be surprised if went this summer. Thought it much more likely he'd go to Madrid last summer and he didn't so I think you've got him for a few more seasons yet.

Which is good news as he'd probably do a good job with a bit of backing.

I'd be gutted if he left Spurs but who could blame him really.

Levy's let him down with signings, stadium delayed yet again, versus an almost unlimited budget and managing one of the biggest clubs in the world? I could see what the appeal might be.

Still don't think he will though.

So why didn't Gareth Bale sign - you'd have offered the same wages as Madrid? Or Modric? Why did Ronnie leave if Wages were the number 1 consideration? Why wouldn't Kane leave Spurs for United?
Real Madrid are the biggest side in the world. That's that pretty much in a few words.
Wages, prestige, trophies and climate all rolled into one.
Which would make it very strange that he would turn down Madrid and go to United.

It’s not like either job won’t be up for a new manger in a couple of years at most anyway.
Real Madrid are on their 16th manager in 18 years.

So Spurs look more attractive to a player because their training ground is 18 years newer than Man Utds?
Is that how it works?

I'm sure if Man Utd want to go and buy Dembele/ Dybala they will be swayed more by the project of signings and aims to win the champions league or the premier league than thoughts of 'oh Spurs have a newer training ground with over 150 new and semi-mature trees and thousands of new plants'

Thought process of a player

Wages
club prestige
Trophies
Climate
Location
Manager
Same nationality team mates?
Good internet connection for PS4
Will the manager let me drive a supercar
Nearby nandos?
Training facilities
On that basis, Klopp and every Liverpool player are desperate to join United and will be doing everything in their power to make it happen?
In bold. I believe we, Liverpool, have got a good project in place at the moment. Not paying wages as stupid as Man Utd are doing but the prestige is similar to Man Utd in the history of football, the trophies we are aiming for. Climate and Location being the North West is the same.

There is no denying that Pochettino could go up to that next level in football if he was manager of Man Utd.
£200m in the next window but yer it would be a project.

Are Spurs going to challenge for the champions league in the future?
I don't mind Spurs. I really don't but I think Man Utd are the step above past, present and future.

Liverpool play excellent wages (ok not stupid Sanchez wages but very good)
Prestige - similar in terms of history and past success, Utd slightly ahead on balance sheet which footballers couldn't even spell
Trophies - similar history, at the moment Liverpool look more likely in next 1-3 years
Climate and location - both st

I think Poch will stay (and hope he does as he is doing a good job and Utd don't deserve him) but he will consider it especially with an eye to promised transfer budgets. Plus expectation at Utd is now rock bottom.
If a company competitor of your current employer offered you double wages and a huge Tech (or whatever) budget would you turn it down because the bogs weren't as shiny rofl

So Liverpool pay less wages, have less prestige, less trophies and same climate and location - yet Klopp/Salah et al aren't going to United because "Project finishing behind City" is going so well? Your arguement for Poch going to United can be made for every other manager in the world with the exception of Pep.

And what does £200m get you in today's market when 90% of the United squad need replacing?

So wages aren't the be all and end all then? That's my point. And why would Poch go if he's turned down Madrid already?

United have more money and can and do pay bigger wages
United are the biggest football club in the world
United have won more trophies.

So all the same reasons that Poch would leave Spurs exist equally for Klopp (except Poch doesn't currently live in a st location!) yet apparently it's different because....you support Liverpool?

For the sensible reason given above, you get fired when the wind changes irrespective of results.

If Utd offer him a 5 year contract (breaks if he doesn't make top 4) and is told he has 5 years to turn things around plus 200m per season net spend and he can go for Erikssen Kane or whoever

vs

Levy telling him he has to sell to buy for next 3 years due to stadium interest payments (for example, not saying it will be that bad)

Poch is 10/1 because the bookies know what’s what & have advice from people in the game & not what some half bake on pistonheads from a backward village in the grim north West of England thinks.

Apart from Alpinestars of course .

fair point - the big difference is Klopp has been given money to spend (and likely will continue) whereas Poch hasn't - badly this year and who knows what he thinks his chances are next year
just depends on how much that pisses him off IMHO

Poch turned down Real which would be far more appealing than the utd job especially to a Spanish speaker who already has a home there.

He turned them down and then signed a new contract the problem imo is that given his comments in the press i firmly believe he did so on the basis he would be given ££ which didn't materialize for one reason or another for me it depends on weather he understands and accepts these reasons...

He'd be perfect for utd and ive no doubt they will go all out for him but hand on heart i cant see him going, utd have far bigger issues than just the manager and Poch + £200m in the summer wont solve them.

Plus as we have been repetitively told Poch is a loser manager with a loser mentality that plays loser football that wins nothing, so theres no way the fans would stand for such an appointment.

There is one thing people overlook, porch actually gets on with levy, so unlike other managers, won't jump unless he really has had enough, which is fortunately not yet... It's not just the training ground that's new, there's the new lodge hotel too that poch helped furnish

I agree. Levy needs to back him 100% in the January and summer transfer windows or he'll go.
