I guess. What else would you expect when a bunch of patriotic sports fans get together? Right?
I'm thinking back to when we saw this exact behaviour on Henman Hill a few years back.

Oh, wait, no. That's right, it's only football which endorses this kind of mindless thuggery.
I bet it's that same "tiny minority" again. Busy folks.

You've never been to a big music concert, beer festival, nightclub or large gathering of fans having beers?
It's poor behaviour, but it's normal..

I'm watching an innocent restaurant owner getting assaulted in front of hundreds of baying football fans.
Only one of them sees fit to try and step in.
Utter scum.
But, yeah. I'm sure that happens all the time at Twickenham.

You’re right about ‘guessing’. That’s the only thing you got right though. But you're right. All sports' fans are just like this.

Yes, they should all be drinking tea from china cups and eating prawn sandwiches while watching football. That’d really be fun. https://www.espn.com/soccer/mexico-mex/story/43469...

These are football fans.
Scummy people, emboldened by the herd mentality, and not deterred by the persistent, pathetic rhetoric from the authorities.

What an absolute shambles of a sport.
OK - Lets say you're suddenly promoted to the head of the FA. What's the 1st thing you'd change or implement ?Scummy people, emboldened by the herd mentality, and not deterred by the persistent, pathetic rhetoric from the authorities.

Let's stop singing songs about killing people, yeah? People who might have been the parents/grandparents/relatives of the opposition fans.
Seems like a fairly reasonable ask, right?
The response of the "tiny minority" (who have now found their way onto Twitter - they do get about...)?
"F*ck 'em. We'll sing it if we like."
It would be good to see the governing bodies and competition organisers actually follow through with this kind of thing. Given the amount of CCTV at a football stadium, it would be very easy to employ a small number of people to sift through and identify the scumbags.
It's not about this song in particular. It wouldn't be unreasonable to ask football fans not to sing songs glorifying the death of other countries' citizens (Ireland get a lot of this), or other teams' players/coaches (Munich, Matthew Harding, Adebayor/Angola etc.), would it?
Or is it just that "tiny minority" doing all of this?
I can't think of any other sports where this is so readily accepted by the general fanbase.

Football fans: "Why do fans of rugby and other sports look down their noses at us? What absolute snobs."
Also, football fans: "Try and stop us from singing songs glorifying the death of the opposition civilians/players/coaches!"
I must admit that on this ^^^ issue I can't disagree. It does seem footy is more 'tribal', for better or worse Also, football fans: "Try and stop us from singing songs glorifying the death of the opposition civilians/players/coaches!"
