Given the low fee accepted for a 28yo England international, I'd suggest that Poch had run out of patience with his poor performances and wanted rid. So I have no doubt that there were words and issues "behind closed doors" - namely raise your game or you're off. Poch doesn't bother with players he doesn't trust; see Janssen, Capoue or Bentaleb. I think it's more a case of the club wanting to sell the player, rather than the player angling for a move. But he's got a contract at Athletico, so everyone's a winner and their shouldn't be any sour grapes.

Hi All

A bit of advice please. My eldest is a Spud and fancies a game for his 15th birthday which is 12/08 - the closest game is Villa on 10/08. Can you advise on ways to get tickets or even if this is remotely possible? The other option is Inter on 04/08 but that's premium and he'd rather see a competitive game.

Vorm played 4 games last season and 11 the season before. And as Lloris ages you can expect him to pick up more injuries, so having decent cover makes sense.

More interestingly is that Rose is included in the squad. Looks like he's struggling to find anyone interested in him.
