I agree that Arsenal will do well this season, obviously not as well as us though
We genuinely have potential to become scarily good... We are still a bit rusty (especially defensively) but we only look like we are in 2nd gear, Long

season ahead but we look up to the job, Looks like our 2 Dutch guys are coming alive again.

Bit disappointed in the last 20 mins or so - I'd say our major weakness now is that we can't seem to be able to play at less than full throttle.

Would have been nice to have rammed it home and really dicked them but got to be pleased with that.
It was hot as hell, they would have been drained - surprised no water break.
With Utd losing as well, not a bad Saturday all round.

Little bit shocked at anyone can be dissopinted today tbh
We turned it up killed them then calmed down, this is our 5thngame is a very short time period, it was fantastic to see for me, when we needed to kill them off we did and emphatically. We were just far to good for them, even if Pepe had scored we would have won, we had gears we could go to when needed.

Matip needs a new contract and soon, he is quality

Only 10 months left, no doubt a big rise is due for him

Couldn't agree more.... He has improved beyond belief in last 6 months... The way he bombs forward is a joy to watch... Defends like his life depends on it

as well.. probably our most underated player ever

Lol that wasn’t me, I fked up the quote - I added about the heat n water break.
Arse caught us with a weird set up we took 15 mins to suss, once the first one went in we were never going to lose. We. Are. Top. Of. The league !!

Mohamed Salah has played in 77 Premier League games for Liverpool.

He's scored 57 goals and provided 20 assists.

77 goal involvements in 77 games.

In the same time, Lionel Messi has played 70, scored 68 and assisted 27 in La Liga. 95 goal involvements in 70 games.

C. Ronaldo's played fewer games in the last 2 seasons in 2 leagues - 59 games 47 goals 13 assists. 60 in 59 - so basically the same as Salah.

That doesn't include European matches, in which both Messi and Ronaldo have been more prolific, but I think it shows the level he's at. Messi is the best player in the world by a distance, then (at least for attackers) it's Ronaldo and Salah. The closest player in the Prem is Raheem Sterling: 69 games, 39 goals 27 assists. So that's 66 in 69 - I think if he carries on in the form he's started this season he's in the conversation too for second best.

Anyone know where the people saying we’d struggle against good strikers this season based on the first game or two have gone?

Good result, didn’t watch but it sounds like we’re good enough to beat teams only playing part of a match. Could be useful in the long season ahead.

Probably in a dark room, hastily revisting thier net spend calculations and ensuring it now only covers 2012 - 2018. They'll be back.

Watched the game last night and highlights just now, Arsenal had good chances but they were never in the game. If they had gone 0-1 up with one of their chances we would've just kicked on and battered them, like last season.

No one can criticise the team as we've been brilliant, We've got 9 points from 9 in what is essentially 2nd gear.

The only negative is that in all three games we've took our foot off the gas and coasted once we're 2, 3 or 4 goals up, then been sloppy and conceded one.

But we're doing ok smile we can't go 100% for 95mins in 38 games.

The next game will be tricky, Burnley is one of the hardest places to go outside the top 4 imo.

They've popped out to have a tea with all those who think Bobby is bang average.

Arsenal's tactics surprised everyone, I think. Not sure why they would set up to give our full backs so much space other than if they were supremely confident they could deal with anything which went into the box. Then they tried to play through the press when long balls over the top to Auba and Pepe would surely have created more problems.

Meanwhile, Lacazette is wasted.

The goal we conceded was sloppy. Can't afford to be doing that in games with finer margins, two legs, away goals etc.
