Which City players genuinely love the club? Kompany? Aguero? Silva possibly?

Genuine question.

I'd say Liverpool have more players who love their club than City and that has a bearing on performances like last night.

Henderson and TAA are obvious ones. VVD didn't want to play anywhere else before he signed. Same with Ox. Robertson still can't believe he was signed by us and is living the dream. Lovren and Firmino are virtual scousers now. Milner is totally invested in the club too as evidenced by his tears last night.

And obviously all the above applies to our manager too. He's a perfect fit for us. I'd wager his affection for Liverpool is as strong as it is for Dortmund.

City will never be as important to Pep as Barcelona.

It's that togetherness that sees us score late goals, only lose 1 league game, get to back to back CL finals and overcome 3-0 deficits IMO.
however.........up till now, all those Liverpool players who genuinely love Liverpool more than the City players love city, haven't won a trophy.

Serious question,
Liverpool were brilliant last, night. They made Barca look ordinary.
However, you’d struggle to argue LFC are better than City, This season they’ve been as good, last season not so much.
This doesn’t alter the fact this is their 2nd consecutive final,(in fact theyve got to be favourites now) and we’ve had our 2nd consecutive exit at the quarters.
Why’s this?
Don’t argue they’ve got more spirit because we’ve proved numerous times we can overcome the odds. Is it the Anfield atmosphere? But both exit nights at the Etihad have been right up there.
What’s going on?
I’d argue that due to the paucity of teams across Europe you are currently the best team in Europe and you are massively underachieving in the champs league.
As to why,I think Adam is mostly right in that you are tactically inflexible .

And good luck for Sunday .

Hazard will be able to show his love for Chelsea from Madrid shortly.

I'm not derailing the City thread squabbling about Liverpool and Chelsea, so I won't comment further.

Apart from your comment about Pep loving Barca more than City, which is completely understandable, I have never seen quite some much nonsense in one post.

You don't think Liverpool have a very strong team spirit and fight for each other, their manager and the club?

You must be pretty much alone in that view after the events of this season.

You don't think City have exactly the same?

If they all believe so much and fight for the pride of Merseyside how come City have reigned them back in from a 10 point lead in December and also why haven't they managed to beat City in the league this season?

Not to extent Liverpool have, no.

We've shown it time and time again that we can compete with a vastly inferior squad to City.

There's a reason the season is going down to the final day and we are in back to back CL finals.

You derailed it by silly comments aimed to antagonise City fans. I just corrected you with facts.

Now you've had a swipe at Chelsea on a Man City forum (nothing to do with what we were talking about) but claiming you're going to be the bigger person and not comment further. LOL.

I think the tactical inflexibility for European football may hold some truth but City have gone out to English teams in the last 2 years (even if it was with the refs help the first time getmecoat)
I’m pretty sure from what I’ve seen that their is an equally strong team spirit within City though.

Vastly inferior squad.......laughable, and surely you should be home and hosed with the PL title seeing as you were once so far out of sight, as I said complete nonsense.

With regard to champion league exit both times there has been a bit of a "story"

The first leg v Liverpool and then the second v Spurs just had some mad periods that cost.

The league is a true test but once you get to the last 8 every team is capable of something extraordinary.

If you think the squads are even, you are just showing your ignorance.

No point talking to someone so blind.

Pop over to Blue Moon, you'll fit in there perfectly. Enjoy the rest of your day.

If anyone requires tickets for the Cup Final on the 18th, please drop me a message.

Not a tout, I have two seats in Club Wembley (Block 247, Row 1) that we won't be using (we're Chelsea fans).

Available in exchange for a charitable donation, drop me a DM if interested.

I'd potentially argue best league team in Europe. It's likely the same issues Barca face. City (and Barca) are used to dominating most of the teams in the league, and keeping the possession and a lot of pressure on a defence. With most teams that is enough to score eventually, even on a bad day. Then the weaknesses in defence are not a problem as you rarely face a club with the quality that can get it into your final 3rd, and even if they are likely to a few times you can do tactical fouls to stop it.

Whereas in the CL there is enough quality that a defence will be much better and so can sustain more pressure over time, so are less likely to concede. And then the rest of the team has too much quality that they have more chances against your defence and eventually some of those will go in. Or a team has a great striker and if you do a long ball to them they can bypass the midfield press and are in with a good chance. Therefore you're a bit less likely to score, and quite a lot more likely to concede compared to the league.

Compare that to us and I think we have a better defence (as in actual defence). Both teams have great defensive records but yours comes more from not letting the opposition have the ball. We do the same, but to a lesser extent. And in the CL against better teams they will have the ball, unlike the league. Hence we seem to be a better European team (not just 2 CL finals, but the Europa League final before that). Real Madrid also did same - didn't do so well as Barca in league but won 3 CL's.

Typical Liverpool fan, look at us we spent almost nothing ( £177m last summer, but they all love Liverpool)and aren't we fantastic, the only one showing ignorance is you, just for your information the reason the title race is down to the final day is because your oh so devoted manager and team couldn't hold onto the lead.......some commitment.rolleyes

I don’t just mean the match day tactics
Liverpool could win the ecl and they have lost 4 games on the way ,you have gone out losing 2 games on the way which suggests the tactical side of a 2 leg tie letting you down .

That’s a good argument from NRS but it doesn’t explain why City have gone out to EPL sides who, at the time, City were the stronger side.
Are we taking on to much even with a big strong squad?
