I will kick off Vol 2 with the final development of my road/gravel/adventure/trail/bikepacking bike, this bike really does it all and in supreme comfort, I genuinely can ride it all day and night, checking my stats against the ultralightweight Canyon I sold last year, the only difference is this is faster on the descents as it's much more stable, has much better brakes and handles like a dream.

Genesis Ti Croix de fer, Sram 1 X 11 MTB gears, Sram Red DZero power meter, Lauf front forks, Jones H bars, TRP brakes, Clement XPlor MSO 700c32 tyres, Lion brass bell!

Mostly finished the Colnago build. Just need to trim the steerer to a final length, add some Di2 grommets, then probably redo the brake routing - I have tried them uncrossed and crossed (coming from the opposite holes on the bars) and neither is satisfactory. When crossed, the front and rear cables don't foul when turned, but the rear brake is pretty stiff... The front brake grommet was missing so I have made one out of brass until the importer can get hold of one.

My most recent steed is still proving hilarious in the way it accelerates, takes on twisty singletrack and obliterates downhill scoots - under pressure I could possibly admit to being over-biked...



It’s a 2018 Yeti SB5.5 with Lyrik RLC 160mm fork, Fox DPX2 shock, Shimano Zee brakes with 203mm front disc and 180mm rear, Alexrims MD27 laced to Novatec hubs shod with 2.4” Maxxis Ardent, and running Shimano XT 1x11 and XT cranks. Bars are Sixpack Kamikaze - bought purely for the name with a KS Lev seatpost.

It’s around 13.5kg and just great fun everywhere.

My latest completed project. Bought a tatty Chromag Surface frame about 18 months ago and finally finished a repaint and built up with the parts bin and budget ebay finds along with a slackset to modernise it a touch.

Here are my two. The road bike is a recent addition. I am covering 120 miles a week between the two at the moment, but hopefully increasing when I get fitter!

The Felt is a 2007 RXC pro, which didnt get used that much (refurbing a 1993 Orange Clockwork XC Pro at the moment which I have had from new) as a result it is in very good condition with all original parts.
