I think ,NRS is right.

I don’t think society is becoming more accepting these idiots have nowhere to hide now. So are getting caught more readily. This particular individual has been identified and is going to really suffer, rightly so as a result.

Mindless fool. What’s inside someone that allows them do that. In the front row 10 yards from the players with the cameras right on them.
They are more emboldened. And hopefully we’ll avoid this thread turning all political, but Gazza has some very valid points.

Phew, when you said “Gazza” had some very valid points I thought this will be a world first but it was Neville! biggrin

Well if feeling more emboldened is the case hopefully what is happening to yesterday’s Herbert will make others think.

Difficult to avoid the politics given what’s happening on Thursday!

I’ll avoid commenting again after this, as it could get very political. Twitter, Facebook, sky TV with cameras everywhere have all been around for a long time now, but this recent upturn (as I see it) is from the last few years and little has changed technology wise that could lead to identification now, that didn’t exist 5 years ago.

Getting back to football, happy birthday to my favourite United player ever, Brian McClair. One of my best memories is the 2 late goals he scored at Maine Road in 1990 in the 3-3 draw after being 3-1 down.

Happy birthday Choccy!

Played 5 a side with Choccy and Robbo just after they’d retired top top blokes

Really, well perhaps really is too strong a word but I’m enjoying Rafa on MNF. Makes me smile thathis English is better than Carragher’s. .

Ole finally getting a bit of praise for his tactics, perhaps he’s starting to finally grow into the job. A few on here have dismissed him but his record against the “bigger” teams is st hot.

Ron Atkinson had a “team” of eleven individuals who got good results against top teams and won the odd cup, but couldn’t deliver against the lesser sides consistently. The last two matches have been welcome victories, but the two before were truly terrible. It will take a lot more than a couple of wins to convince me. I’d like to see some sort of consistency in our style of play and some true commitment like Saturday’s against The next 10 teams we play before I’ll believe there’s any hope for this set up.

It’s a fair comment. Much of the challenge for a manager is getting the side to work extremely hard against the less good teams. In many ways, it’s easier to get the team ready to play Man City than to play relegation fodder.

I think you have the issue we used to have. If you play as a mostly counter-attacking team you can do very well against clubs that come onto you (basically the top clubs). Problem is against the poorer teams then as you're a big name they don't need to attack you much, so you have to be the team playing. That then results in too many draws/losses over a season to win the league. Which is shown in the stats - unbeaten against the top, but dropped points at (I think from a United friend's comments) all the bottom clubs.

The problem with that analysis is that ole is only just starting the rebuild. Get a good number 10 in and it becomes much easier breaking defensive teams down. The ones he’s had to play are pretty poor.

It's not to say it will stay like that - just what I have seen/ what the stats seem to say with the current team. But you will know your team better, watching them week in/week out.

I was one to dismiss him last week and in hindsight I was a bit strong with it. We were particularly poor in midfield and looked like a team of headless chickens. Then with Poch becoming available it certainly swayed my allegiance to Ole but I'm happy to have been proven wrong the last two games. McTominay coming back has been huge for us and he makes us tick.

We're just lacking that player who can open up the teams who sit back instead of us counter attacking. I hope Pogba proves a lot of people wrong (me included) but he's not consistent enough and only does it when he wants too. He's not the sort of player Ole wants at the club so it will be interesting to see how it plays out tbh...

What is actually wrong with Pogba, is there a date for him to come back or is he angling for a move?

Ole is a big fan of Pogba, or at least was, so I have no idea what will happen.

If McTom and Fred can stay in midfield then we can push Pogba forward and play more as a 10. Remove some of the defensive work and let him have a free role.

It would be very interesting to see how Pogba performs in that role. If he's willing to give 100% every game then we could be immense.
