The Benny Hill theme is a bit dated Fellas.

I might be wrong but read it back and if it still has you rolling on the floor with laughter then I’m sorry carry on.

A totally dominant first half. We’ve been very impressive on the ball but even better off it. Our desire to win it back and press them back is a joy to see!!
Spot on. Real spirit to this side.
This is my take away after reflecting.

A bit more guile in the shooting and scoring phase and we have a team who can do things. Very early days for the front 2 or 3 and Mason Greenwood should be made part of this so he can start to fit in.

There were lots of positives but we didn’t create that much overall.
Must win these games.

Good game overall, fair result but I think Wolves had a easy ride tonight.

You looked half decent at times, but toothless up front. Two shots on target all game, and only one after wolves drew level (the penalty) says it all really.
Interesting point. Toothless upfront/? Crosses that don’t find a man don’t feature in normal stats but a good cross is key to a fair few goals. We were lively on the wings and looked good. Spurs had two shots on target yesterday.....
I didn't say you didn't look good going forward, as you did at times, looked much better than the back end of last season.

Wolves are a really good side, but surely you can't compare last night's result to spurs going to Man City, spurs struggled against them and got a really good point, one I'd be proud of my own team getting, but two shots against wolves can only be described as toothless imo.

If we go away and do the same I'd be just as critical of my own team.

Their keeper faced one shot on target in open play in 90 minutes. Can't really ignore that.

There were points when you were literally hanging on, Wolves will be just as disappointed as you should be I reckon.

I think it’s fair to call us toothless. We created nothing in the second half. I’m as worried about our attack as our midfield.

No sense at all to the substitutions on 89 mins, but we had nothing to bring on, to be blunt.

in terms of creativitiy i'd put Sanchez where lingard was playing last night - of all the forwards he appeared to be the most ineffective.

sanchez has the same energy but is a better passer and potential chance creator - i would deffo give him a run in the side - even Mata who is our best passer of the ball should have had more minutes. he can't do that role for 90 but he deserved a bit longer.

i think in the second half we were guilty of trying to play the wonder ball instead of attacking the space a bit more - Pogba, Mctominay, rashford all wasted good opportunities but the movement up front was inconsistent and AWB and LS are different types of fullback.

I thought AWB was excellent again and James will come good he just needs to calm down a bit but jeez he is quick.

i'm a tad dissapointed in that we missed the penalty but its only the second game and wolves are a really good team who will beat many teams especially at home. they started slowly and we dominated and but for a wonder goal and a missed penalty it would have been ours.

we are definitely back but not the complete article.

Lingard was pretty useless and just ran around a lot. Gomes would be a far better 10 than he is as he's clever like Mata but has a lot more pace. He's our future 10 imo.

Although that was progress from last season, it still doesn't fill me with much confidence. We are only set up to counter and when teams sit in and defend, we create barely anything. All that possession and we did hardly anything with it, 2 shots on target.

Rashford should have taken the penalty, he should be our penalty taker full stop as Pogba misses them far too often.

But it's still early days and it is a young team, at least we look solid at the back now!

I think we still looked a little bit off in terms of fitness in the second half. Lost the energy, but that may have been the threat Wolves posed causing us to drop back.

This was NEVER going to change in one season, we all know that but at least it's a good start and we've strengthened where we were desperate to with Maguire and Bisakka. The relief of not seeing Young, Jones and Smalling on the team sheet is glorious.

We've made good progress and the team looks together and heading in the right direction for the first time since SAF days.

I agree, he will never face a penalty with so much pressure as the PSG game but took that one brilliantly as well.
Pogba isn't clinical enough.

Exactly, it seems as though Rashford copes with the pressure a lot better.

It's hard to know what goes on at HT when we go from totally dominating to just sitting back and letting the game open up.

All very good points. We need to focus on the direction of travel, rather than on each individual result or miss or mistake. This applies most to panic artists like me!

On another point, personally, I’m not entirely persuaded that James is good enough to start, but I’m giving the lad the benefit of the doubt. He’s the kind of player that can suddenly turn a corner and become awesome.

Agree with all of this

I think James looks a proper talent but still young, I do think he'll improve quickly though and if its between him or Mata/Jesse on the wings...

James has bundles of talent but he just needs to refine his final ball, which he will. Then he will scare the st out of defenders.

I was very impressed with Traore for them too, he's a beast and if he can string games together playing like that then he'll be unstoppable. Shaw had no clue what to do!

Like you said, it's early days.

Wolves are a very competent side.

Thats as may be but we need to put these games to bed to show real progress.

A draw there isn’t bad but it screams “not a top 4 team yet” to me. Nicking these games by the odd goal is what I expect Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea (to a lesser extent) to do this season.
