Fantastic performance tonight. Defence and Midfield looked solid and work rate was fantastic. As much as Matic is a good servant to the club we just look more solid with mobility and work rate in the middle of the park.

I was concerned when Pogba came on, but looked much better higher up the pitch, showed good strength and looked to take players on.
If only the finishing could be improved. At times it looked a bit clueless with the attacks breaking down and players passing when good shooting opportunities were available.

Martial had a great finish with his header, shame it was at the wrong end.

The defence certainly looked better with the absence of Maguire, he doesn't seem to add anything much to the team.

I know what you mean. There was a couple of times when Rashford or Bruno should have shot, but passed instead. I suppose if they had blazed the shot high and wide people would be moaning they should have passed.

If only we’d just added a really experienced champions league striker to the squad wink

World class strikers have that killer instinct where they don't think about missing.

Maybe Cavani will be half the answer to the problem.

And Greenwood the other half. Plus Martial will hit a bit of form and learn a st load from Cavani.

Tuanzebe May have given a little insight as to why a pacey centre half wasn’t Top of the list this summer.

McTominay is playing himself into the first team and Fred looks really at home in the Champions league, they were both excellent last night.

Optimism fully restored in my little corner.

Win the next 5 and we will be looking in rude health. That’s far from easy though, far from easy.
Chelsea H
RB Leipzig H
Arsenal H
Basaksehir A
Everton A

Win those that’s the champions league group won and we’ll damn near top of the league given the bonkers start!

Utd are a strange side at the moment. We go on long streaks of looking excellent but are sometimes absolutely appalling!

Ole has just also broken the club record for consecutive away wins of 10. We are getting there slowly as last night shows but as you say ORD we have no consistency at all.

The improvement in pace of play with Pogba on the bench is impossible to ignore.

Agreed. Pogba should not start in any game where we have a lot of defending to do. McT and Fred are excellent in those kind of games.

We also need to find a way to beat teams that sit back.

Surely that’s because Pogba is not a defensive-mid, I’m not why we keep playing him there.

He’s better playing forward isn’t he? Where we have Fernandes and VdB

New left back look promising. Cavani to come VDB to settle in, Bruno should retain the armband. Happy days.
Sod Sancho, for crazy money, and rotate Tuanzabe, lindy, Maguire, bailiey

Yes Telles was putting corners and crosses in like that Trent bloke from Liverpool! About time we had someone who could cross the ball in!

Promising tactical changes also around the defence and midfield from the previous game.
Let's hope we can get the spirit going for a decent run. I think we found the right guy for the armband too.

Bailly out for 3-4 weeks. He must be one of our most injury prone players ever?
Got to be some sort of reason he gets so many.

VdB to settle in ?

Besides Bruno why should VdB settle in among a very mediocre midfield, a midfield where he doesn't fit in. He's becoming Ole's regular 88 min. sub.

The reality is United shouldn't have bought VdB, because they need improvement somewhere else. VdB is there to cover up the lacklustre performance in the transfer window.

United is an ackward, mismanaged club.

DVB will get many games this season. We need good rotation and cover with top players. Season has barely even started!

Considering his purchase price I think it was a great buy even if it wasn’t in an area we are weak in.

Some might say you're an "awkward" bitter hater :-)

You were posting about Utd on a Liverpool thread while your team were being beaten by their 2nd string Liverpool team lol.

Give it up and enjoy watching your own team for once, you'll feel a lot better without all the Utd hate in you :-)

BBC footy gossip has suggestion that Greenwood has been spoken to about turning up late for training.
Let's hope he matures quickly and doesn't waste his fabulous talent.

Chelsea this weekend- feeling positive after recent events but with those two defences I can't see it being goalless. Think we should play the same team we started with for continuity and keep pogba in reserve for when changes get made.

2-1 Utd
Anyone else in tipping mood?
