I've only seen the 5 minutes highlights and heard/read BBC commentary during some of the game but we seemed to be a mess in defence at times and Genk were very much in the game for an hour. They just played over the press with simple long balls and caught us on more than one occasion and probably should have scored much earlier, which if they had would have made it interesting. They certainly deserved a couple.
That midfield three wasn't great. Not sure if it's been played before. Ox obviously did what we know he can do and Fabinho becomes more assured over time and looks the best natural fit sat back. The BBC commentary was to the effect that Keita just ambled through the game and is better suited to being an impact sub. It's good that he's getting game time and he has to have it to develop but he really needs to graft now.
Klopp seemed underwhelmed in his post match interview. It's a good, and important, result but things still aren't clicking.
Surely if you only watched 5 minutes highlights of a 5 minute game you can't really comment, a BBC txt commentary is not quite the same?? That midfield three wasn't great. It s the 1st time they played, there was flaws and also 2 of them have just come back from a long lay off I think every man and his dog would expect it not to be perfect.. It was a game Klopp felt he could get away trialing them and he was right, as it worked but there was flaws.

So your latest is now that someone who didn't watch the whole game can't make a comment?

Comment away, just found it odd to have an opinion on a set up of 3 players on how they played when you didn't watch the game
Fabinho was brilliant last night
OX good in parts, took his goals brilliant
Keita offers us much more forward dynamism than were used to but doesn't cover as well as what we're used to.
I can see him playing Ox and Keita more just not as a pair in big game, yet.. Defensive training, how and where to cover space will need to be worked on

I think I did say its something yesterday, I agree type r, his defensive covering/play will need to improve to become a regular
He will offer us a lot more going forward but could cost us if not the furthest forward of the 3...(he played deeper than normal yesterday) .I'm confident if we spotted it So did Klopp and it will be addressed, might have been just a sharpnes/fitness issue
There was huge positives though and they were highlighted in those stats
Definitely willing to give him the benefit of doubt - as you say that, he's just come back from injury so almost certainly not 100% match fit. He definitely will offer more going forward - am sure Klopp will work on his tracking back ability, as he has the engine for it. We definitely have some options now though; we'll be able to rotate that midfield depending on the type of opposition. I think for too long we've opted to play Milner/Hendo/Wij (injury has slightly forced the hand) but now we have some options to unlock stubborn defences whilst also having options to nullify attacking teams.

To add on my point I don't think any of us really expect Ox and Naby to play in a midfield together, it was a game he could test it though as we should beat them, for me those 2 are fighting each other to be in the team with We definitely have some options now though; we'll be able to rotate that midfield depending on the type of opposition. FAB and 1 other, we cannot expect 2 attack minded players to suddenly give cover like a Hendo, Milner or Wijnaldum would
If we're chasing a game yes let them have a go, if we playing a cup game against a team much weaker yep have a go, a prem team is a no no for me
But there was many positives in what they offered us going forward.
I'd like to see, Fab, Wij and Ox/naby

So it's not possible to get a grasp of what is happening in a game by listening to someone describing it on the radio? I wonder why millions listen or the BBC even bother with a broadcast.Fabinho was brilliant last night

Ox's first goal was described as being hit from out side the area, right footed into the bottom corner with the keeper rooted to his line. Well fk me if when I see it in pictures he didn't score a left footed overhead kick from the six yard box in off the keeper's arse.

I'd love you to go see Klopp and tell him your opinion on our midfield 3 for the night and then tell him you're basing it in BBC txt commentary..Ox's first goal was described as being hit from out side the area, right footed into the bottom corner with the keeper rooted to his line. I said before the game I hoped Keita would get a run out as he needs games. He was never going to be 100% match fit - just glad he got a long run out. Having him and Ox match fit gives us more options as others have said. It can only help.
Agree Flip, tbh I think they both massively needed that run out, I'd give them another go at Arsenal next week to if 1 of them doesn't start Sunday. I would not be surprised to see our normal 3 v Spurs though.
I said last night to I felt a bit for Lallana, after his goal I bet he was hoping for some minutes, we have some attacking options from midfield now with those 3 back fit, I do think Lallana will get the least minutes though.

They themselves don't usually appreciate the comment due to this. Certainly my black mates don't find it complimentary.
I believe it goes back to the plantation days when the black men were seen as studs much like a bull is today. Good for only one thing. I believe in South Africa in colonial times it was also used to depict black men as having a wild animalistic sexuality. ie; Keep your white daughters away from them.
In short, in these enlightened times it's not funny and it's not clever.

It's not no but i doubt the lads who did it were thinking anything was racist at the time They themselves don't usually appreciate the comment due to this. Certainly my black mates don't find it complimentary.

old Trafford sang about lukaku having a big doubt they did to.
As Barnes keeps saying it needs to go back further to education levels to stop things like this.
The lads who did it will be regretting it massively now no doubt as there season tickets will no doubt get taken off them and banned from going.

I understand what you mean regarding Lallana, but going forward, I think Klopp knows he hasn't got a future at the club. 32 next summer and out of contract. Might as well keep faith in Ox and Keita as they have more of a future at the club.I would not be surprised to see our normal 3 v Spurs though.

Radio. Plus text, plus highlights plus subsequently various articles plus interviews, including Klopp's. Did I stop everything for two hours to make sure I could sit and watch it completely uninterrupted and take copious notes? No I did not. I was/am not fully aware of all of the criteria you stipulate for an opinion to be valid (other than it needing to align with yours, obvs.).
