Richie is still out injured, I'm hoping Gordon gets a start instead of Theo tonight

Newcastle have a few more than us missing, both teams are victims of the fixture pile up. I'd like to see Gordon get game time but don't think he will start, the conundrum for me is Bernard, he was brilliant against Bournemouth and invisible in the Irons game, I just don't get it. A homer maybe?

Pickford really is a bang average keeper isn't he? He needs shifting out and replacing.

Not a priority, but yeah we need to look at a keeper sooner rather than later

I dont think Pickford is the biggest problem. Its the inability of the whole team to keep the ball out of our box in the closing minutes when that was they only way they looked like scoring. You can just tell when someone is going to give away a stupid free kick. although its usually when a goal down in injury time and an impetuous midfielder fouls the opponent trying to get the ball and you know they are going to take 2 minutes to take the free kick.

Somehow the team was unable to carry on with what had worked for 92 minutes. Lack of leadership on the pitch I suppose. I would guess CA already had a pretty clear idea about what he needs but he will know even better now. Hope the goal gets Keen started and what about DCL - never saw all these goals coming from him.So - yet another season in transition: from one shade of ste to another shade of ste.

It would help if he wasn't stood behind his line for one of the goals last night...

We brought that upon ourselves, something that the manager has to urgently address. We played well up to that point and should’ve been home and dry, pleased for Kean but Newcastle were so poor that it’s hard to judge our performance.

It’s not a rock. He resides under the bosom of his ageing mother who chides him daily for not being the lover his father once was. He seeks solace in taunting and teasing until somebody bites and then she gives him a biscuit. In order to starve the poor soul and free him of this earth, we must ignore him, only then will we be free of his acerbic wit.

It's very quiet on the transfer front, both ins and outs. I think we're very close to FFP rules at the moment, maybe 1 loan in? I think I'd rather wait until the summer when we can free a load of money up from players contracts expiring and get some quality in than us panic buy someone.

Also Gomes was back training with the first team this week, still a little way off us seeing him, but that's great news biggrin

Agree, I would rather see us clear out in the summer after Carlo has had a proper look at what he's let himself in for. There aren't many January signings that work out for us, it's usually a panic buy that ends in tears.

Are you suggesting Tosun and Walcott aren't quality signings laugh

I see we've sold young Antony Evans today. But I agree, I'd be happy to if we didn't sign anyone and waited for the summer and just cleared dead wood out in the meantime

I'm hoping he's not going to kick and fuss for a move and will wait and see what happens over the summer. It's probably the first time we've actually not needed the money when another club has come in for a player!

You couldnt blame him if he forced it - south americans to, they all want to play in Spain (you only have to look at us for that hehe)

I think they may come back and he will go for 100m?
