Can't see how Dele fits into this team now. He only works when Kane plays up top and he can drop into the space behind like a false 9. He is never going to start unless a lot of injuries. Squad player or Thursday night football at best. I expect we'll be open to offers in Jan.

Dele is way to occupied with his clothing range to worry about football, he has all the talent but isn't focused on the team anymore. he needs to be got rid of as soon as possible. imho

Well at least all our remaining fixtures are against teams below us in the table.

Yep. Given the choice, I'd far rather have Eriksen back to Dele. But the right trade is Dele for an established international class CB.

What's the setback with Tanganga? Can't see anything in the news.

Rodon can't play in the Euro's so we are stuck with Sanchez, Dier and Davies as CB options, only Dier out of those 3 fills me with any confidence and I never thought I'd say that. Rodon is also unproven so he'll either have to be thrown in at the deep end against Chelsea which isn't ideal or again we go with Sanchez or Davies.

Starting to rue getting rid of Verts now tbh. I know he was starting to be off the pace a bit but I'd still have him ahead of the other two options any day.
For the Ludogorets game:

Hart
Doherty
Reg
Dier
Rodon
Hojberg
Lo Celso
Ndombele
Son
Kane
Bale

And then rest Son, Kane and Ndombele if / when we are two or three goals ahead.

I'd really like to see Lo Celso getting a bit more time now he's fitter alongside Ndombele. A lot more to come from him.

I don't think he would, not against the better teams anyway.

With Kane dropping deep, we are playing 2 willing runners in Son, Berg/Moyes. 2 me midfield grafters in Hoijberg + 1. That leaves the one position occupied by Ndom/Gio. Those 2 can both go past players which is crucial to beating the press. Eriksen can't. Nor does he tackle.

Sure against weaker teams his creativity would be good but he wouldn't get in our best 11 against the better teams. Not how Jose has them set up anyway.
Yep. I see what you're saying. It might be the required shift in tactics to accommodate the Eriksen of 2-3 years ago would be hard to pull off, though still think for similar wages he'd be much better asset than Alli.

If Gio broke his leg tomorrow, then taking back Eriksen on loan could make sense. But it would still be a difficult call when you have Bale also. Alli is on a lot less than Eriksen.

Agree Mourinho is building the team around how he wants them to play, neither Alli or Eriksen fit into that style, they just don't work hard enough, especially off the ball. Could you see either of them putting in the hard graft that was required by all 10 outfield players against City?

@Ntv, Rodon is not available for selection in the Europa so we are stuck with Sanchez. We should just about get away with it as the opposition isn't top notch in that competition at this phase. I think we can register Rodon for Europe in January IIRC.

Fingers cross for minor injuries to Kane and Son. Nothing serious, just enough to rule them out of the Chelsea game.

THFC financial results out today for the year ending June 2020.

Overall the club is reporting a loss of £63.9m in contrast to last year's profit of £68.6m. The club is predicting a loss of £150m next season if fans are not allowed back.

On the up side - match day and catering receipts were £81.9m for the 14 Premier League games before COVID kicked in. That’s £5.85m per game. Astonishing.

Hopefully with lockdown ending shortly we can get back there to enjoy the beer sausage rolls football.

Omgzzz, top of the table... this is our year etc! wink

I think you lot will beat Chelsea pretty comfortably in your game against them. Certainly got a team that can challenge this season it looks like.
Not too sure. Chelsea always raise their game against Spurs.

Plus "Spursy" is still alive and well!
True! I was just thinking you have such a good attack they will give you a lot of respect and sit back. When they did that against us they struggled to do much up front as a result.

Is there many clubs who don’t have big injury problems these days? You lot have issue at the back like us, Leicester have a bunch too from the start of the the season, Man City have their striker issues. Media has a lot of focus on us, but not mentioned some other clubs like yourselves much. Wonder how long it will be until the clubs try to force something at this rate.

I think Adam made a good point up there ^^^ where he said the team that wins the league this season will probably be the one which copes with injuries the best. I didn't realise Leicester had quite so many injury issues until I read the report as Liverpool were getting all the injury headlines. It does feel like there are more significant injury issues this season than previously.

Too early to throw in the towel, but it's hard to see past Liverpool, unless several more of the first team are out. They seem to be coping without their most important player.

If we avoid/cope with injuries I honestly think we can finish second or third and win one or two cups. I'm sure we'd all take that!
