Great result last night, sooner we’re out of this bobbins the better! I know there is the “good tournament to just play the kids” but it’ll still be massive distraction. Don’t play a stronger team next week, see if the kids/reserves sink or swim and have a season concentrating domestically and see what happens.

While I agree with a lot of that I do worry that if this is our future, none of those kids are anywhere near ready.
Future being the operative word. You don't go from academy to Premier League regular in one game. Gotta start somewhere. Why is it that Levy is credited in the press (and on here) as the decision maker in the Kane affair? Apparently he owns less than 30% of ENIC, while the rest is owned by Joe Lewis, from his bunker in the Bahamas. Does Joe give Daniel a free hand in Spurs management matters, or is he pulling the strings behind the scenes?
(By the way, Joe Lewis is the nephew of my late uncle Lou Lewis. Until recently I had a cousin who was Joe’s cousin on his father’s side and my cousin on his mother’s side. He used to visit Joe occasionally. I never knew the man, but my brother, who is 10 years older than me, used to play with him on the street in the East End, and remembers him well.)

Because he's Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur and Managing Director of ENIC.(By the way, Joe Lewis is the nephew of my late uncle Lou Lewis. You think Uncle Joe gets involved in player transfers or any other day-to-day issues of the football club?

The club is just a small part of his business portfolio. He is no more going to be interested in the daily runnings than he is his golf courses, hotels, restaurants, resorts, logistics or life science companies.
Iirc, Joe bought the club for his son to get involved. His son had different ideas.....Roofless Toothless said:
According to Wikipedia he is not Lewis’s son in law.
If I owned 70% of the club, I think I would be keeping a tight rein on goings on there, whatever Levy’s nominal position.
Joe Lewis owns 70% of ENIC, not Spurs. (Levy owns the other 30%). ENIC owns 85% of Spurs. ENIC is an investment group. As well as Spurs they have holdings in software companies, retailers, entertainment complexes and online betting. There's no way Lewis would be micro managing each business in the group. You don't buy a dog and bark yourself. Part of being a good businessman is making sure you have the right people in place and empowering them to do their job. If I owned 70% of the club, I think I would be keeping a tight rein on goings on there, whatever Levy’s nominal position.

Just read wiki on Joe Lewis - would be fascinating to spend a candid evening with him over a few bottles of (his) wine, given upbringing, footy, sterling crash and (in particular for me) art
How did Levy end up owning such a valuable % of ENIC?
At a guess part of his remuneration package was stock options. How did Levy end up owning such a valuable % of ENIC?
