I think that's a training ground move, they've done it quite a few times now.

Trent's flat driven cross to Minamino for his header was superb too.

Also worth noting that Williams had a decent game at CB!

Williams had a good game, given his age. No nerves either. Bodes well. Personally I loved Shaq's "no look" defence splitter to Trent for the first goal.

Good news. Matip could be back this weekend which would be a great boost especially with City on the horizon. Any news on Thiago?

Expected Sat

Edit looks like now pushing for City, has to go with Williams this weekend for me, rather that than Hendo...

Williams has had little pressure and certainly no expectations against Lincoln and also against Midtjylland - they'll be a lot more spotlight from the media / pundits etc in the build up to West Ham if he gets selected. Was playing in the Northern Conference this time last season so will be a massive step up and of course West Ham will no doubt target him due to his inexperience.

Wijnaldum has played CB before - Klopp may opt to choose experience and protect Williams a bit but who knows - maybe he thinks he is ready.

If you are good enough you thrive on the pressure and should always be ready. It’s either step up and grasp the opportunity or you won’t ever make it

I think Klopp's quote about Williams on Tuesday night was telling - they didn't know whether or not he would show any nerves..."but he didn't, so that was good news". Wouldn't surprise me if he gets more regular game time this season, easing him in gradually when circumstances allow.

John Lundstrum is now available from Sheffield United.

Don't know much about him but the missus who's a closest Utd fan highly rates him.

No Antonio this weekend, he would have bullied our CBs with his strength, plus point for us

He only passes backward and sidewards

Jordan Henderson has played the most forward passes in the Premier League this season per 90 minutes. He’s averaged nearly 25 forward passes of the 67 passes he's made per 90 so far this season.

I'm stickler for accurate stats. So is this the most forward passes, or the highest ratio of forward to sideways and backwards passes?

Klopp on Fab:

"Fab is not in, a little injury, out for the weekend and slightly longer..."

Klopp on Thiago and Keita:

"Both are in a good way. That's how it is with recovery. You saw what happened with Thiago. It needs time to settle but we don't know exactly how long. He is desperate to make the next steps. If he is ready for tomorrow, we will see. It's the same for Naby, it's a different type of injury."

It was plain stupidity for the Premier League to vote against 5 subs per game!

By the sounds of it, it was the smaller clubs that voted against it as they thought it favoured the clubs with bigger budgets, hence them having more quality players on the bench.

I think it was Burnley that didn't have a full bench during the previous lockdown and another club had two goalkeeper to make up the numbers.
