I am not sure it is the lack of being up for a game. It is probably more not wanting to pick up any silly injury at this stage that could rule them out for an extended period into next season, so not going at it full throttle. Trouble is, that leads to silly errors, that otherwise would be less likely to happen normally.

How was that tackle on Saka any different to Eddies red card one against Leicester?

Different players. Different game. Different officials. Different day.

Less force, less contact.

Your red was a bit unlucky IMHO

Robertson and Trent have been poor lately IMO. Salah's finishing has been really hit and miss too tonight.

I think the thing I'm most annoyed about is the lack of the right mentality.

These players should be going out on to the field with the mentality of winning a game. With no thought to the wider implications on the league, what has happened before or what will happen in the future. They should only want to win the game at hand.
Souness said before the match that in his experience you can still want to go out with the right mentality, and feel you will be - but once you're out on the pitch, without the pressure there, for whatever reason it doesn't happen. Don't think any of them are thinking "can't be arsed with this anymore".

Could well be Shaq's last appearance.

Yep we are just unable to get to the level we need to be at..which is understandable since we have been at it for 79 games, hunting that premiership trophy down,
Season end cant come soon enough for these lads..

Lets not pretend we haven't put in a number of performances like this this season but not gifted two goals away and got the 1-0 over the line.

Not sure what Origis contribution has been. Other than to lose the ball and give away fouls.

You sound very upset about this... is the league not enough now, we have to get the most points ever to be happy? Jeesus

I think van Dijk deserves a second chance.
