Partey release clause apparently being paid now, this may still happen
I wouldn't be unhappy at all with Partey arriving, but I'm unsure what it would do to help with our creativity problem. Although maybe if we had two strong midfielders we could have a more attacking mid (Ceballos?) and our forwards further up the pitch than we have currently.

Gunnersaurus has been given the boot as well.
Sad day today
Apparently he was on about £30k a year too, which is about 0.03% of our annual wage bill if my maths are right. Yes, I understand that in business these very small things add up, but it's hard to see that as anything other than a complete dick move. It hasn't saved the club any meaningful amount of money at all, all it's done is piss the fans off and make the owners even more unpopular. Sad day today

I've heard that it's only temporary and when the fans are back in the stadium they will be bringing him back.
He's even got a gofundme page setup now, currently on about £3k out of £70k.
In other news can't believe this major deadline deal has gone unnoticed.

If Partey comes that has got to be a good thing. Maybe you're right - a strong midfield of Xhaka and Partey (giving Xhaka the benefit of the doubt there) would allow someone to be more creative. But that would mean needing to play with 4 at the back. Who knows.
I think the way Gabriel’s played so far a back 4 is on the cards. I when Pepe came on yesterday it was Auba up top with Pepe, Willian and Saka in a three behind him. As much as any Arteta team has a set formation.Don’t know much about Partey but he looks to have a physical presence and be able to drive forward with the ball from deep. Something we don’t have and desperately need.

Although excited it's like we have solved one problem but still have the creative side missing.
Typical Arsenal can't try and fix all problems at once.
Auaor would have been a great addition and we would most likely be challenging for top honours with them both this season.
Arteta has made us harder to beat and we have decent options in defence but looks like we will still be missing a piece of the jigsaw like always this season unfortunately.
