Would anyone like to speculate what is wrong with Aubameyang?
(or is it playing him in this system?)
There was a moment when Saka was chasing a ball carrier like a Jack Russell. He went from the left wing, across a static Aubameyang and won a freekick close to the right wing. Auba still ball watching.
He's the captain FFS.

For me he's massively regressed since giving him that big money contract, which we never should have gave him at his age.(or is it playing him in this system?)

He was pushed around so easily yesterday.
Everything he does is half assed, going into 50/50s, chasing the ball, first touch, can't take players on, losing the ball, pressing players, hold up play, no effort.
Really disappointed in him to the effect where it wouldn't bother me if he was dropped for Laca or Martinelli
If it's not a 1 on 1 with the goalie or player in the box I don't see him offering much else at the moment.

The whole 'will-he-won't he' over the contract stuff, combined with all that contrived video nonsense over the signing etc, was just setting himself up for a fall. It was all made to appear as though he had just been teasing us all along and never had any intention of going elsewhere because he loves the club, wants to become a legend yadda yadda, adores the fans etc- completely ignoring the fact that the entire world knew full well that the club had just agreed to pay him an absolute stack load of cash! It's like looking to move company because the business isn't exactly going places and you can see your career sliding away, you get a ton of better offers but then all of a sudden your company says if you stick around we'll double your salary... "Of course I've always loved this place! Get me the contract! I've even brought my own pen! Are we filming this?!"
I can't be the only one who cringed their way through all that post-signing guff, with the club legends thanking him for staying etc. THEY'RE PAYING HIM AN INSANE AMOUNT OF MONEY!
All that fawning would have been appropriate had he turned round and said something along the lines of "yeah I love this place so I'm going to stick around for a few more years, no need for a pay rise lets invest the money improving the rest of the squad etc, I just love the club and want us to do well". Obviously that isn't how football works, but it would have at least given a shred of credibility to all the drama around him sticking around.
By so publicly lapping up all of that adoration when deep down he basically knows he stayed to earn a ton more money, I reckon he's put a ton of pressure on himself which is showing in his performances this season. I personally think he's a pretty decent guy underneath all of the show and bravado and to me it seems like he's scared that if he doesn't start scoring regularly then people are going to cotton on to all of the above and it's that fear that is affecting him on the pitch.
Obviously the recent family stuff is going to have a big impact, but the above goes pretty much back to the start of the season.
That is my 2 cents anyway.
We really, really need to do better in the next games. Not impressed with Ceballos, two mistakes leading directly to goals.
Willian? Well.... he wasn’t awful. I’m still not going to be happy when I see him coming on unless he can do that regularly, but still, credit where it’s due.
Tierney, Saka. These boys. Jesus Christ we don’t deserve them.
Really glad to have Auba back too. I don’t think he’s quite back to full form yet, but he’s getting there.

Really squeaky bum time there at the end.
Like most games this season we were our own worst enemies.
Again a few players were sloppy in passing the ball around defence.
It should have never have got to this stage after the amount of chances wasted in the first game.
Cebellos played the worst game I've probably ever seen, instant improvement as soon as Partey came on.
Auba looked a lot better than his last game and was actually chasing players and making good runs.
He was really sharp tonight, hopefully keeps it up.
We showed good character to come through this.
On Saka, really seeing a trajectory similar to Bale, start out at left back and now on the wings and doing some real damage either by scoring or assisting, although not as explosive and quick as Bale he seems to have a footballing brain as well being a bit of a speed merchant.
If he carries on like this I can see him becoming one of the best in the PL by his mid 20's
