If we strip away all the noise and threats and assume everything went as they wanted and the leagues bend to their will
The ESL clubs would no longer partake in the CL/EL and instead play the ESL teams in those time slots in the season, it seems the league would be split into 2 pots of 10 and then 2 from each side go through to semi's and a final, then rinse and repeat for UTD every single season with 5 or so new teams maybe joining on occasion
It still holds zero interest for me, football is about jeopardy and this removes it
Its right and correct that my Liverpool friends have been able to give me st for the last few years as we languished in the EL, its lovely that I now get to throw a bit back at them
EL games can give you CL qualification meaning someone like West Ham can gain CL
What would be the point of having watched yesterdays game if the result didn't really mean anything, would the players have won 3-1 knowing that actually the result didn't matter cos they are already in next season? Best rest up for the last few games lads and get ready for next season?
I'm still dead against the idea and have yet to speak to anyone I know who is for it, I have also yet to hear a remotely decent explanation apart from Money as to why it is wanted or needed
Thought this was a good article on it https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/apr/18/o...

I can’t believe the number of lifelong Man U, Citee, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool fans all threatening to disown their clubs.
As a West Ham supporter I don’t have that decision to make.
Hope you all have the bottle to go through with it.
Not gonna happen I suspect. The first time Real or Barca come to town the stadiums will be rammed full.As a West Ham supporter I don’t have that decision to make.
Hope you all have the bottle to go through with it.

It'll be once a season home and away surely.
Apparently of the 20 teams they will be split 10 a side and play a mini league, then semis and a final, so if you are in the same tranche as City you could easily play them 3 times at least if you went to the finalAlternatively if you have a shocker in the first few games and obviously aren't going to make the semis, then just stop trying, save your energy for other comps or next season

Not if they get dumped from the domestic leagues. Won't have anyone else to play with.
Given UEFA stance I wonder where they will get refs from?
Wherever they want if the check is big enough I’d imagine Given UEFA stance I wonder where they will get refs from?

What about a draft system for the players so there’s no need to spend on transfer fees anymore and the owners can pocket that too.
Maybe a bidding system from other cities around the world to host matches or even move a team there.
Red Devils vs Las Galacticos Maybe a bidding system from other cities around the world to host matches or even move a team there.
3pm Eastern Time £20 PPV
Sounds delightful
