Some of you could start a fight in an empty room! Very funny gents.
Nowt wrong with a bit of harmless speculation at all particularly as we’ve no United actually action for you to moan about.
Now then speculation. Let’s throw in we are likely to lose Pogba this summer if he doesn’t renew. No way he’s going on a free. He’s hugely likely to have a brilliant euros because he is st hot when he wants to be and he will be and always is for France. A good tournament reminds his suitors of just that so it’s sign or we have to cash in.
Madrid or Juve you’d assume. Puts us in the driving seat if we want any of their first team for our squad. I’d take Ronaldo in a heart beat. He’ll play until he’s 40 IMO and still could cut it a la Cavani for a season and it is impossible to question his professionalism. Check him out at 5 for further evidence! I’m not really serious as Ed’s not making fan friendly shirt selling choices anymore!
What I do hope is we draw him at some stage next season so I’ve cancel to see him in the flesh again. What a fking player.

A part of what I was writing was tongue in cheek, but also partly serious. We have a huge amount of midfielders and I don’t see us offloading that, we seem to keep throwing one year extensions at all of them, even though they’re heading towards their 50s and barely able to walk without a stick now (tongue in cheek). Pogba is a risk of leaving and I’m torn on that, as he’s a hell of a player, but the circus is just too much at times, as are the games where he struts like a peacock when he needs to work like a dog.
That still leaves us with Bruno, McTominay, Fred, DVB, Matic, Mata, James, Lingard, plus the Academy players who might get a shot. I know some of those are surplus to requirements and probably won’t make the squad, but they’re still drawing a salary. Adding in another few expensive signings just adds more hassle and potential disruption to the squad. I’m not a fan of two holding midfielders, but we need at least one to protect the back four, otherwise teams will run riot. Bruno fills the other central role, that’s right wing (Sancho), and only the left to fill, which Rashford likes. Where are we playing Grealish, or Rice, or Phillips, or DVB, or whoever? All out of position? I know there’s the argument of rotation, but can you see a big money signing wanting to end up like DVB, or the crowd / player / agent being happy at seeing them warming the bench every other week? It’s OK to get that to some extent when you’re absolutely dominating the league, but even City are seeing players getting restless with bench warming and agitating for moves.

James, .lingard nd Mata play further up the field for me, and Jesse is hardly going to moan at a squad role and if it’s s true Mate is about to,take a huge pay it to stay on in the squad. I’d rather we were winning trophies with grumpy players but the one thing I utterly trust despite inexperience and as some of us here state, his tactical naivety, I don’t think we can question Ole’s man management. He’s not got a dysfunctional changing room and won’t tolerate one. If you’re not playing you’re either lacking in experience or not good enough. If you are going to get grumpy with a squad role then off you go as you are not good enough to push for a first team position.
DVB, young signings aside is the only recent transfer miss, IMO his automatic selection for the Dutch pre injury tells us a few things about his potential talent. He’s had a stty year but I’ve not heard about any moaning.
None of us are professional footballers but the type of professional we want doesn’t moan if not picked he waits for his opportunity and is ready to deliver. I’m confident Ole can deliver an anecdote or two to cover the benefits of patience. If you are good enough.
In January according to press reports we were linked to 116 players in the press. Who knows whose coming in but we are getting more right than wrong recently.

The three you mention may well play farther up the field, but that just compounds my point. They are all still midfielders rather than forwards. We can’t just play 4 midfielders who play higher up the pitch and hope our defence will be able to cope. I’m any event, if you buy a load of new midfielders then these won’t get a game, probably won’t even get in the squad, but are still drawing a salary. Ole might be able to manage a squad and avoid disruption, but why risk it by creating the problem in the first place?

I’ve an offer for fellow posting reds.
Im now the sole owner of 3 season tickets and United are launching an electronic ticket option finally. I don’t want to be single, I’ve a tolerant other half but there’s a limit so with friends and family sorted I am likely to have a few games spare. I want o do a few away trips in Europe this season so will have to give up a few weekends.
I’m not going to the what ever the league cup is but there will be one or two chances in the league or champions league for 3 very very good seats together next season. If you think you might fancy a game then you’ll need a membership at United to allow me to transfer the tickets.
Should be able to give a good few weeks notice but if you’ve not been to a before or it’s been a few years let me know if you fancy it.
Face value obvs,

I think we can all agree you dont like DvB.
Nope. No view on him except that he’s not played a single good game (or even 10 mins for us). He might be a decent player but he definitely hasn’t shown that.Gone a bit AMG said:

This is where I confess to being one of those London based fans, so might be tough for me, unless I can blag a customer / supplier meeting in the NW at some point. Offer stands to all, fixtures are out tomorrow.
Leeds Everton, Liverpool, the derby obvs, Burnley and West Ham are spoken for unless some idiot that knows me tries to get married on a match day. But if you’ve a family member that follows a team or you just fancy a trip,to Manchester I’ll post on here the games when I’ve all three spare.

I love Pogba.
Laughing at the idea of not needing any more players because we have Mata (about to be retired), James (should be sold) and Lingard (should be sold). None of those 3 should be anywhere near the team.
You’re right. And once again, if you took some time to read and understand what was written you’d see that I said they probably won’t make the squad, but will continue to draw a salary, which by extension will affect funds available. It will also mean that there’s a shedload of players hanging around Carrington unnecessarily.
