Why on earth would that be legal or fair? Some ridiculous stuff being posted tonight on some club threads.
The owners of many clubs have tried and possibly failed to move the game on but nothing has actually happened until it does.
How exactly does a closed league with no real competition move the game on? It's a marketing move and nothing more and thankfully it's backfired on them spectacularly.
I didn't say I agreed with it. Your reaction was what I was picking up on. The players managers and supporters do not deserve any punishment they played no part. Deducting points after a hard fought season doesn't punish the stupid mega rich owners of these clubs.

Authoritarianism and knee jerk vindictiveness is so 2021.

Hang them all! Confiscate the clubs and make them socialistic cooperatives!!!
Is anyone really saying confiscate the clubs? It’s just a vain hope that we can get rid of the leeches. We all know it won’t happen and even if it did we’d end up with some corrupt Middle Eastern state sponsorship in their place as they’re the only ones with any money. I just hope there’s a proper fan backlash that makes the Glazers lives a little bit miserable, even if it ultimately serves no purpose.

Not a chance, Liverpool will want FSG out and I expect the same from Utd fans with the Glazers

The stadium has needed a big overhaul for a quite a while as the constant extensions were never more than bits and bobs bolted on and the inside is a real maze and closed off areas. However, if it is starting to fall into disrepair then it’ll fit perfectly with their malls in the US.

This has the feeling of a real grassroots rebellion. The problem will always be how we get our club back from these leeches as they won’t give it away and finding someone with a few billion spare isn’t easy.

Shame they couldn't find a whole year to refurbish the stadium when there would be no fans in.

Our stadium has been a botch job for years now and a new one like Spurs is what we need, but it's obviously massive cost which the Glazers won't pay for!

If only there was some way the local council could be made to foot the bill for a new one for us.

Still a fantastic place to be when a winning goal was scored in Fergie Time:-)

Maybe if one of our board was on the council he can structure a deal whereby the club agree to rejuvenate the local area ,as he buys up all the local property and then once the deal is done. He can then sell the said property he aquired for a huge profit .
Oh and he can go on tv yesterday and tell everyone how greedy the clubs are being .

I hear you Frankie. Let’s also build the equivalent of a footy fan fantasy land on the approach to the donated stadium with outdoor bars and food stands whilst my mate on the council Nextdoor bans drinking on the streets around old Trafford and prevents any United development near the ground.
