You lot are pessimistic!

Lots to improve on, but that was better than I've watched you play this year

Get Fab back as the #1 FFS.
Not sure why you say that unless TalkSport are not giving a fair impression of the match. Areola has done okay.
Blind pass to Mav? - they blamed Areola for that (I am listening to Danny Murphy though).
Mav's mess up on the edge of the box towards the end of the game was entirely of his own making, just his usual cock-up per game. hehe
No way.
Arreola played him into no man’s land with nowhere to go,couldn’t turn out and couldn’t go back utterly brainless at that time of the game. It was only the third time Areola had either done that or issued it to a blue shirt though.
Decent save at the end though, could easily have squirmed under him.
Mav played some excellent threaded passes between the lines tonight.

What on earth was that freekick taken by Paqueta in the first half?
In a promising position just outside the Everton box, perfect for a ball in on top of someone's head. Instead, 3 players stand over the ball and simultaneously split 3 ways, with Paqueta running squarely at the defence with the ball at his feet. Everton defence step out, take the ball off him and play it up the pitch. Absolutely baffled by that.

But overall not a bad game and came away with 1 more point than I expected.

Also, didn't hear much of the 'amazing' atmosphere the new Everton stadium is supposed to have compared to LS, was pretty much silent, even when they were leading.

Fair enough, not going to argue... I thought we looked a lot better with some younger players and sharper all over.

Absolutely, amazing what a bit of pace and athleticism can do… can’t see JWP getting anywhere near the midfield now.
AWB/Bowen one flank and Diouf/Jimmy on the other could give teams plenty to think about.

I wonder why Summerville was substituted?

He was arguably our best player.

I assume still managing his return after a bad injury & long layoff.

He was a long time getting up after Pickford clattered him. Thinking back to what that b…… did to Van Dyke I immediately had my concerns.

I think for sure Nuno was given tapes of our games and made the call on JWP, he really offers so little in terms of defensive cover, transitions, pace, or even forward passing - I think he realised if the ball broke to him on the counter the play breaks down. Good to see he felt Potts could do a job as Magassa was struggling, lets hope that's just a part of adjusting to the PL. Also we had Soucek missing, I wonder what he is thinking having watched that.

Diouf and Summerville should be a good combo down that left, I just hope Summerville stays fit and that injury was a freak one.

He (Pickford) is second only to Bruno Fernandes in terms of PL players that I have an irrational and intense dislike for.

He was limping a bit when he came back on at the end of the game to go over to the fans. I assume he got clattered by Pickford.

Yep, we both looked at each other and burst out laughing at that!

I don't mind Pickford. Callum Wilson on the other hand biggrin
