I would put more liability on Paq than Mavropanos.

Indeed.
Not sure when Mav did wrong, the cross for the second goal bent away from him.
Ship Pac out in Jan,he’s had zero influence for over two seasons now.

Yeah, after the sending off a few weeks ago I said he shouldn't be allowed back in the team and I stand by that, gives the wrong message completely. He thinks he's much bigger than the club, but the truth is is that he is an absolute liability. Lucky if 1 in 5 of his passes come off, and when he does mess up (as he did for their 2nd goal) he seems to have zero self accountability. He just doesn't care.

I hate to say it but he reminds me of Kudus in (not good) many ways.

In an effort to put it behind me, and looking towards the future, I just consulted the tables to see who we are playing next weekend.

Good grief ….

It'll be our standard, annual defeat. This year I suspect it'll be a four or five nil pasting - possibly more.

We last beat MC in the PL in 2015 (draws in 2020 & 2022), they've averaged 2.73 goals per game vs WH since, totals 52:15.

Diouf & AWB off to the AFCON so our ste squad's -2.

Happy Xmas.

There are so many African players in the PL nowadays they really need to start thinking about this. We can't be the only side that loses more Africans for Afcon than English lads when England play - and they have an international break for that.

Sunderland are losing six players, they are the most affected by the tournament.

We did deserve to lose because we cannot close down a game and Villa were always likely to score with Paqueta and our flakey defense.
We competed and battled all over the park, even with Jimmy and Diouf having shockers. We lost to a worldy, against a team that is on their best ever run.
It was small moments that separated the teams and subs way too late.
Villa fan here, I was there yesterday on my first awayday in a while, a friend managed to get hold of two tickets for us, we went with some old pals who are WHU season ticket holders, my first visit to the London Stadium.

I think you are right, it was a pretty even game, having conceded so early I had settled for a point and felt we were rather hanging on before Rogers pops up with a worldie. I don't think he could believe how much space just opened up for him, everyone seemed to freeze momentarily and he was able to get his shot off. It's the finest of margins at this level.

Nobody is battering you, recent form is draws or a loss by a margin of one goal. I think Nuno has the ability to turn this round, a few defensive tweaks and you will begin to climb the table.

I enjoyed the day and all the bars round Hackney Wick, a good day out from a fan's perspective. All the pubs round Villa Pare abysmal, so it was nice to go for some pre/post match beers somewhere decent within walking distance of the ground.

Certainly plenty of choice around Hackney Wick and best to have a beer there after the game rather than queue for hours to get into Stratford.

Edit date is the 11th, thought we was playing twice in 48 hours when you posted that... only successful teams do that...

Yes, 11th - appears we're on PPV, hence the move rolleyes

Assume the broadcasters sensing an "upset", although losing in a London derby's standard for us at the moment.
