I that corner routine would have been laughed at if a bunch of 11 year olds had tried it.
Didn’t think one could be offside from a corner
Pretty certain you can’t just stand off the pitch and come back on whenever you feel like it.

If it was leaving the field without permission that’s a yellow card then, and I thought linesman flagged offside scratchchin

Linesman didn’t flag anything. Ref blew, then the Lino stuck his flag up.

I thought the guy took the corner, the other guy stopped the ball and the guy that took the corner was flagged for running on to it.

That's not offside as the ball didn't travel forward.

Nope - lino flags then ref blows, presumably in consultation.

That was really solid by Italy. That's a good team.

I don't think that's in the laws, but one takes it for granted as the ball is rarely played forward. But I think the ref thought the ball had been played forward, but it wasn't.

It was certainly the most un-Italian, Italian team I've ever seen play.

I still think the (correct) get out for the officials is that the other player was off the pitch

They really struggled for the first half though. While they attacked a lot which was unusual they didn’t break down a pretty poor team. Once a goal goes in against a team playing for a draw then the game will always open up.

I'm not sure the Italians were that great, commentators made them out to be better than they actually were.
Turkey were on their a55 after 60 mins and they were very poor going forward.
Once the goal went in they just fell apart.

If we get the same Wales with the togetherness and spirit from last time out, I cant see no reason why they can't get out of this group.
The Swiss will be a tough test however.

I don't think Turkey are that poor a team. They were just totally bossed and couldn't get a foot in the game.

They were an outstanding save from going 1-0 up in the first half and a few half chances. Ended up with 24 efforts. They controlled that game from start to finish.

I’m not denying Italy were ever at risk of losing the match, just that they were struggling to score and all the possession in the world doesn’t mean you win matches. Until the goal went in I though Turkey’s game plan was working and that was to play for 0-0. Turkey are a poor team.

1 loss from 10 in their qualifying group and took 4 points off France, the best defensive record in the qualifiers, and they are a poor team?

Some pundits were predicting they'd do very well.

yes surprised to see them still pushing into 90 mins, thought they'd get a fourth.

That should have been a mandatory yellow card.
