Onto Germany then...

First time in 2 years, Marquez has been dominant for years but the chance he'll be on the top step or podium is doubtful. Fabio has to be favourite, probably followed by the KTM's I'd say, it's not been great for Ducati so thoughts?

I think I'm actually more excited about Moto3 though, I love watching Acosta rattle through the field.

Moto3 could be anyone. That's why it's so great.

Moto2 will be Remy, Raul, Sam(unless he bins it). Navarro will crash for sure.

MotoGP... Fabio. The weather forecast is hot and dry.

Listened to a podcast by Keith Hewen ...... 7 left corners followed by a right down the waterfall !!! Hence why it is so tricky and many people lose the front due to cold tyre. Should be interesting, he also mentioned that due to being left hand biased, it will be less stressful for MM in the big class if he can get the bike working.

Should be good whatever happens. Cannot wait.

On a side note , has the real reason about Q`s zip come out yet and why he binned his chest protector ? ( not wishng to derail this thread !)

Alpinestars have checked the suit, all zips working fine, airbag didn't go off.... There was a shot of Fabio either about to get on the bike, or on the bike before the race started and his zip was below the velcro strap so my assumption is he didn't fasten it all the way to the top and the retaining strap became ineffective.

I'd like to see 11 in a row, it's been a pretty jaw dropping run since we started talking about it around the seventh time. MM93 did plenty of laps at the last test, has had plenty of time to recover and will be less hampered by his physical condition; let's see if he can figure something out for Honda.

Ducati's should go better here than in previous years as their bike actually seems to turn now ( you know, like Dovi asked them for years...); Fabio is probably the favourite but Vinales could run and hide. KTM should be in the podium mix, I think top six for Mir and Rins to bin it at turn 7/8 whilst vying for the lead.

Crossing fingers for Sam, will be happy to see Remy win and would like to see Bo Bendsneyder go well.

Moto3 is a lottery which is why I don't really like it. Would like to see sillyness clamped down on and McPhee go well but not holding out much hope for either.

Good opening sessions. Marc looked reasonably fast...as expected. But does't look as fast over longer distances.

He stayed out on the same tyres the whole session, I think he wanted to get a fast one banked to hopefully get him through to qualifying 2 tomorrow. I just don't think he's got the strength, stamina, feeling (nerve damage) to last a full race distance after 4 practice sessions and potentially 2 qualifying sessions, then a 20 min warmup on Sunday morning.

Honda looked strong though, KTM's nowhere, Ducati hovering after the Hondas..

Fabio and Oliveira looking nailed on for podiums with Jack and Zarco in the mix to. The Honda has top six pace but can't see it making the podium, looks like the magical run is over, and not for the want of MM93 trying.

Interesting interview with McPhee in BT Sport there. Petronas moved his crew chief to Dixon in Moto2 with no real replacement and consultation. He brought up how they didn't honour his Moto2 contract. I think wherever he rides next year, it won't be Petronas...

Team boss trying to dress it up as great for the team, will help everyone out etc…

‘we support John as much as we can’

I don’t think McPhee will be racing in MotoGP next year I’m afraid..

Don't blame Stigy at all for this, McPhee has been pathetic this year, can't take the pressure and for one so experienced he is being shown up by numerous kids nearly half his age. Having said that Binder is doing no better, and that move just then was back of the grid penalty stuff.

It is clear they are trying to push Dixon into GP, with Dorna's help, but he will not get the ride unless he gets results, Dorna will not take the risk of putting someone not good enough in there. Two or three good rides is not enough.

Bum deal to do it mid season, but McPhee for me has proved he is not up to it and is being dropped obviously, had SOOO many chances bit like Lowes really sadly.

Also this team is having a reality check, they had An amazing start, but this year every class has been difficult, so no shock things are being done desperately as year so far has been a disaster.

At least not with Petronas! He does manage to win one race a year or so and usually in contention for the podium. I would be surprised if nobody took him on.

Oh fingers crossed for him, I’m just worried I’ll pop into the Corryvreckan next year out on a ride and he’ll be taking my food order.

I really hope not though… I think he’s been really unlucky this year and has the talent to get a ride somewhere..

McPhee deserves at least a shot at Moto2.

On his day he’s as quick as anybody in his class and at least as good as any mid table rider in Moto2.

Jake Dixon is put forward as the great hope of Petronas but I honestly think John would get more reliable results on the same bike.

Agreed that in 3 he is great, but he never goes that step further, and in my eyes has spent too long on 3, he might get a 2 seat next year but not in a big team maybe and certianly not at Petronas as that relationship seems very over.

Concerned at the waiting around on track here, a big accident is very likely these guys need to grow up a bit an need a bking from Uncini!

Bizarre quali from MM93. spent more time fannying about and playing games than trying to put a strong lap in, one the one circuit he's always dominated. Just weird. It's like his heads gone.
